So, Age of Conan has been out for over a week now. Has anyone picked it up?
I got my Collectors Edition last week and I have to say I love the game, much better than World of Warcraft which I never really got into because of various reasons.
My Stygian Demonologist is already up to level 25, if anyone wants to say hello, her name is Eshaeris and can be found on the European server Ymir.
I've always loved the Conan stories/world and I feel this game does the mythos great justice. Two thumbs up from me at least.

Honestly i don't like this game, for many reasons :
I find the appearance of characters ugly, considering the possibilities nowadays to make them better looking. This is not much better than Star Wars Galaxies, Everquest, LOTRO or any other MMORPG from years ago. Yes, the graphics are nice for the backgrounds, decors, and all. But it doesn't fit with the characters and it is not enough to make the game appealing. Dungeon Siege and Guild Wars also had nice decors and it didn't help them much.
I am very disappointed by the style of the game, which is far from what was announced it would be. No, it is not more mature than other MMORPGs, by far. Quite the opposite actually, it looks more like a teenager game, similar to many console games. The way i see it, it is nothing but a barbarian game, or should i say a game of barbarians. I don't think a contest of ultraviolent screenshots (currently running) is the best way to promote the game.
To make a good MMORPG, you don't need just flashy graphics or superpowers. You need an atmosphere and a community. These are the only two factors which can make the game world alive. This is what defines a MMORPG.
This being said, this is nothing but my point of view.
If you like it, fine, good for you and have fun :)
