Quite a few of the other patrons around the bar stifle laughs and giggles at Todd's antics, even Oriniya gives a brief smile before turning her attention back to Sam "My dear, you shouldn't let mere words effect you so badly, it's a wonderful thing that you're willing to go into the unknown to find your friend."
The husky looks up at the barber and gives a low growl. Ameei rushes to the dog's side and whispers somthing to him and he soon settles down.
"Equipment can probably be arranged, delivering a message however may be a little more.. problematical." Oriniya answers Lyus' enquiries "The door to your world only opens sometimes, often on a whim and as magic doesn't work on your side we couldn't send a message that way. We'll try for you by all means but you may end up home before the message."

Paulus Crumb |

Paulus watches the interchange between Sam and Todd with some amusement but quickly brushes it aside. He was hopelessly besotted with Marla and so far hadn't done much but look the fool since arriving here. He certainly felt for Sam in that aspect.
"Well, whether she chooses to stay or not, we need to go at least check on her. I won't be going home to face Marla or the others having not tried"
Trying Todd's own trick
Heroic - We're home, triumphant from the land of magic!
Falsetto - Where's grace?
Heroic - Well we left her there. Apparently she found an elf and we thought..she'll be fine then
Falsetto(icy undertones) - Really now, how very noble of you
"Yeah, I just don't see that panning out in our favour"
No perform skill for me so this probably sounds all wierd for those around me :)

Lyus Fivetrees |

Lyus is somewhat taken aback by the impromptu comedy performance, and rather the laughing with the others he sympathise with Sam. Once the others have died down he lays a reassuring hand on the young man’s shoulder.
“Don’t get down hearten lad, we’ll find her an’ if as Todd says she wants to stay then that’s hers to say. But if she is under some sort a’... influence or other then aye we’ll rescue her right.”
He then turns to the others his face serious.
“Aye well I don’t know noting bout magic an’ such. But this place sounds trixie, all out war or skulduggery we stay low an’ try not to draw attention.”
He then turns to Oriniya and says his tone respectful.
“Thanks ma’am anything you can spare would be a grand help. As for message, if there’s nought to be done then fair enough. I’m not gonna pretend I got the first idea of how such things work, so I’ll leave it to them what do.”
Then bowing slightly to both Oriniya and Ameei Lyus says.
“Thanke Ladies you’ve been a grand help I hope one day to repay you in some way.”

Paulus Crumb |

Paulus also bows to the ladies. "Aye, thank you ladies. I've been a bit of a fool but I think I have my head around what's going on now. If possible, I'd like to look at a bow or crossbow if you have one to spare. Will our gold be accepted here on this world?" he reaches for his belt pouch, realising he probably doesn't have enough to buy a weapon and hoping these two would be helpful enough to lend him one.
He pats Sam on the back heartily "Let's go get Grace Sam, I need to get home and see Marla and I'm sure Misty wan't to find out what's been going on."

Ameei. |

"No need to hank me" Ameei announces with a grin "Especially as I'm coming with you, you may not have noticed at the time but I did promise you guys that I'd help you find Grace. So consider me your guide to the other side until we track down the youngest Clover girl!"
"Although I don't see the door opening for a while, perhaps you should all settle in for drinks or maybe get yourselves some rooms upstairs to have a rest before we go hunting" Smiling lightly she pets the husky as she awaits the response from the men at her inviting herself alongwith them.

Paulus Crumb |

Paulus smiles his acceptance of Amei's help. He felt the four of them could sure use a guide.
"Um, will you be travelling in....you know."he waves his hand vaguely at the husky, tryiing to get his message across but also trying not to be insulting. He still wasn't comfortable with the whole idea of magic.
"Now that you mention it, I havn't actually eaten anything. Half a Kabab and one pint is all. I'd love something to eat. Anything with meat and maybe some potatoes. Also another of those wonderful orange drinks with the little umbrellas. It was nice" he says, his stomach grumbling at the thought of some rare cooked venison or rabbit stew.

Lyus Fivetrees |

Lyus nods, and takes another swig from his well... summer drink. When Ameei said about all fours he looks slightly confused.
“Begging your pardon Ameei, but are you saying you was that coli?”
After a moment he shrugs, it wasn’t the oddest thing to happen today. Then he realized that he too hadn’t eaten in some time.
“Aye some food and a bed would be welcome, and as for your company. I’d appreciate it, most like make our task the easier for having a guide that knows the land.”

Samiel 'Sam' Longshanks |

Pouting a little Ameei's tone is a little sulky. "Well I could but i'm often a lot more fun like this.. Unless you want me to walk on all fours.." Giggling a little the mercurial young lady seems to have moved on from her little sulk almost right away.
Sam snorts a bit when he hears this canard.
"I'm glad you are coming along Ameei. It would be hard to find Gracie without a guide."
Sam's belly rumbles
"Now that you mention it, I could use a bit of tucker. And maybe a bit of regular drink, like some cider. This faerie wine is going to my head!"

Todd Peel |

"Ok so we have a guide, thank you for that by the way, and some equipment for those that know how to use it, and I echo the request to get some food.", Todd turns to Sam "I'm sorry if that skit seemed a little harsh but I needed to bring you down to earth fast and guess I chose the wrong way to do it, its not the first time I've mucked up royally, and I guess I need to process whats going a little bit more as well."

Samiel 'Sam' Longshanks |

"It's nothing Mr. Peel" Sam replies, his face neutral. "We're all out of sorts here."
Turning to Oriniya he smiles at her offer.
"That's mighty kind of you Miss Oriniya. Can you show us where these eating shops are?"
Just FYI I'm not angry, but Sam is definitely not happy about that little skit. After all he is an awkward teenaged boy! ;)

Lyus Fivetrees |

Lyus looks up from his now empty glass and says.
“Aye this Grill sounds grand ma’am. An’ thanks. “
He smiles gratefully at Oriniya, he then looks at Todd and the others and says.
“S’ right we’re all out of sorts here, but we need to stick together. Last thing we need is losing someone else tonight. We all got to look out for each other.”
Then with a nod he smiles broadly at his companions.
“You know, we goin’ ta have a hell of a story to tell when we get back that’s sure.”
Then with a laugh he turns to Oriniya.
“Well ma’am lead on”.
He was still a little worried but, he wasn’t sure if it was the strange drink or just this place. He started to look forward to this well adventure really. He was sure he’d see home, Aria and Marcus again.

Kayos |

He was sure he’d see home, Aria and Marcus again.
But not Moss, he doesn't care about Moss! :P
Oriniya gives a smile "I'm sure Ameei can lead you to the Grill, I have some matters to attend to upstairs" She remarks smoothly witha small bow of her head "But I'm sure I'll see you again before the night is up" she adds certainly.
Ameei gives a grin and gladly leads the group out of the bar and down the wooden stairs, past the door that reads "Twilight's Fine Dining" and onwards to the next one and pushes it open.
Upon walking through the door marked 'Thallthorne's Grill' the group are are hit with the scent of meat cooking and the sounds of laughter and happy conversation. Before them is a large circular room filled with tables of varying shapes and heights, each has a lit candle or two sat in the middle of it, all of the flickering flames given off by the wax sticks are different colours. In the center of the room is a large contained fire on which various meats are being cooked, some on spits, some on large metallic slabs hung over the flames and some on meshed metal trays.
As they take in these sights they are greeted by a young man who facially can only be described as pretty, femenine features adorning a masculine, if a little slender, form. Tearing their attention away from the man's stunning green eyes the party start to notice the strange things about him. His short tufty hair is an especially bright tone of red, the colour of poppies or perhaps roses and sprouting from his back are a pair of wings, delicate gossimer things in a dark leafy green colour. He's dressed in dark trousers, a white shirt and a brown silk tie adorned with a green leaf pattern.
It's at seeing his features that causes the group to take a closer look at the other 'people' frequenting Thallathorne's, like upstairs the forms clustered around some of the tables are equally bizarre, unnatural shades of hair and of skin and extra attachments to their bodies, be they wings or horns or extra limbs.
"Hello and welcome to the Grill!" The red haired man declares brightly, his grin growing especially bright as he spots Ameei.

Kayos |

"That can most certainly be arranged" The pretty man replies with a bright grin that shows a collection of brilliant white and very pointy teeth "If you'd all like to follow me" He leads the group to a table large enough to accomodate them all before taking a notepad and stick of wrapped charcoal from his pocket, noting down Sam's order before looking to the others "And what can I get for the rest of you?"

Ameei |

Slipping into a chair Ameei pulls Sam into a seat next to her and gestures for Paulus to sit on her other side. Turning to the waiter she matches his grin with a bright one of her own. "Hi Redd. Can I get meat.. Lots of meat.. Oh and my usual drink." Turning to the other's she motions them all to be seated.
"They do great drinks here.. Ask for anything and i'm sure Redd will leap at the chance to bring it for you." Settling back into her chair she purses her lips and looks thoughtfully at Sam.

Paulus Crumb |

Paulus takes up Aimee's offer of a seat and slouches into the chair. He looks around the room with some interest, ytaking onte of the little details in case he needs them later. He passes a professional eye over the furniture and candles, looking at the details and workmanship and trying to judge their worth back home. If he could get a look at some of these close up he might be able to get someone to build them and sell them in the shop. Unique items were what brought new customers in. Maybe he could "borrow" one when they returned home and get some of the craftsmen to look at it.
He shook his head as he realised he had seemlessly been thinking about the two worlds simultaneously. How quickly he had adapted to the situation. Less than half an hour ago he was walking through the darkened woods looking for a lsot girl and missing woodsman. Now he was seated next to a beautiful woman who shape change to a dog, surrounded by people with horns and extra appendages, and being served drinks by a man with decidedly sharp teeth. He smiled, his old self finally coming to the forefront as the novelty and excitemnt of the situation rose to the fore.
"I'd be keen to try some spiced meat, maube something you can recommend as a memorable dish from your world? And another of those great orange drinks with the umbrellas?" he could feel a slight glow from deep in his stomach from the last drink and he quite liked it.
"Marla would love this place you know." He says out loud but adressing no one in particular. "All the colours would have her smiling and asking for a dance"
sorry for delayed posting. I've been sick and finding it hard to focus through the fog of this damnable cold

Kayos |

Sorry I've been ill too
The waiter gives another grin at the group. "I have no end of wonderful suggestions but if you're unsure and are new to Thallathorne's I would heartily recommend the grill itself" He declares, nodding over to the fire in the middle of the room as another patron, a man with faintly glowing amber skin approached and helped himself to a portion of the meat cooking on a spit with the assistance of a waitress.

Lyus Fivetrees |

I have got sniffles and I’ve only just checked the board :P. Sorry haven’t posted, family holiday.
Looks around the room takes in the odd assortment of folks and shrugs. ‘Ah well, least the food smells good.’ He thinks to himself as he sits.
“Aye, I think I’ll go for the grill an’ all. As for a drink, I’ll have a pint of glowing summer... stuff.”
He then clanked around again and says with a smile.
“Nice place here, I see that business is good.”

Kayos |

Redd gives a small bow to the group after taking their orders. "Business is always good!" He replies to Lyus' words "I'll be right back, in the meantime enjoy picking your meal from our fine selection.." He starts barely finishing before Paulus is over there. Giving an amused smile and a chuckle he shakes his head "I'll be right back with the drinks then." He declares and with a small wink to Ameei heads off.
The waitress helping people to food at the grill gives a hearty giggle at Paulus' enthusiasm. "I can certainly do that!" She tells him before starting to load his plate with a vast array of meats, some recognisable to him, others not, but they all smell truly delicious.

Paulus Crumb |

Taking the laden plate of meat, Paulus turned to the waitress "Thankyou ma'am, it all looks and smells so great". He walked back to the table, stopping only long enough to smother the meat with gravy. He did pause to glance over some vegetables steaming on the sides of the fire pit, but realised there wasn't enough room on the plate so shrugged and walked on.
As he sat next to Aimee he realised he didn't have any utensils. He had been in the process of drawing his dagger to use to cut the meat up when he realised this could be an overtly hostile act in this world.
Looking to his new guide he asked "Are there any etiquette rules I should know about before I make a complete fool of myself here?" his stomach rumbled.

Lyus Fivetrees |

As Lyus walks over to the fire pit he glances round the room casually, ‘just like the tavern at home’. Apart for the other worldly appearance of some of the customers, this odd thoughts somewhat at ease, after perusing the meats he pointed out a few interesting looking cuts to the waitress and after thanking her he help himself to some vegetables and gravy before returning to the table. He opened his pouch and took out the leather wrapped cutlery set he always carried it had been a present from Aria, one year she had finally tired of him eating with his hands and dagger at the table so she had got him the set. He smiled at the memory and then tugged in to his foot. In between mouthfuls he looks up at Ameei and says.
“Good meat this, not sure what it is mind.”

Ameei |

"Hmm etiquette... Never sleep with someone in public unless you're prepared to share. Not finishing drinks is a little frowned upon but feel free to pass them over and i'll help you with that, oh and don't insult people by going 'blerrrgh' if you don't like the food. There's some weird tastes catered for and the guests are allowed to indulge in whatever they fancy as long as it hurts noone that isn't willing." It appears that she would carry on but Sam's rapid consumption catches her attention and she sort of drifts off for a moment.

Todd Peel |

Todd goes to the grill carefully selects a selection of lean red meats and vegetables, then returns to the table. Noticing Amie looking at Sam he smiles slightly to himself before becoming seated. "Ok time to tuck in I think" he says adjusting his gloves and pulling out some eating utensils from a pouch.

Paulus Crumb |

Paulus listens to the etiquette rules Aimee spells out for him. He blinks once then smiles, refusing to be shocked at the nature of this place. "Well then, I'll just eat shall I" he states, pulling his dagger out and carving the meat before using his fingers to eat.
The gravy is delicious and most of the meats are superb. One or two pieces leave him a bit bewildered but he remebers Aimee's warning and doesn't commment.
"So, what're we going to do about Grace? When should we head out for her" he asks around a mouthful of meat. Reaching down he takes a sip of his tropical drink before filling his mouth with more meat. He looks around at the group expectantly.
thought I'd start following the formatting conventions of Sam and Lyus. Trying to make things more consistant for you Kayos :)

Lyus Fivetrees |

Lyus pauses in his eating to take a deep swig from his odd summer drink and wipes is mouth with the back of his hand and goes back to his food. The etiquette for this place sounded odd, but fair enough, it wasn’t his place to judge. He carries on eating quietly and listens to the buzz of conversation around him; he felt the most content he had since he entered the forest earlier in the evening. After pausing and taking another drink he looks over at Ameei.
“So, can you tell us anything else about where we’re off t’?”
Its just how im used to writing on boards lol :).

Ameei |

Looking at the young woodsman fondly the young girl gives him her most winning smile. "Of course not. It's good to see someone enjoy their food so much." Ripping into her own food Ameei herself indulges with gusto. Still she's careful to not let the blood from the rare meat cover her face. That wouldn't do at all.
"So you enjoying it?" Pulling her attention from the young man she remembers to take in the rest of the group. "Heh sorry. Hmm where are we going? I think it's best to track Grace because what i've heard might not be accurate.. I think it is but it would be best to make sure."

Kayos |

Your meal passes warmly and amicably. The staff are more than friendly and will get you anything you ask for. After the first round of drinks Redd disappears off somewhere and is replaced by a rather nice waitress with short green hair that appears to be made of blades of grass.
What are peoples plans for after their wonderful meal or would they like to sit and chat and take the opportunity to get to know each other a little better before moving onwards?

Samiel 'Sam' Longshanks |

Sam is still interested in finding Gracie and playing the hero in Misty's eyes. However, he is most pleased with the selection of yummy food and can be convinced to stick around a bit and socialize.
Sam turns to Ameei while he awaits another plate of food.
"So what can we expect to see when we go looking for Gracie Miss Ameei?"

I can't find the ooc thread anymore for this one so posting here
I'm sorry to say that I have to pull out of this game.
I'm really busy with work at the moment and unfortunately I'm rapidly losing interest in play by posts. I'm finding it difficult to stay creative over this length of time as my work sucks alot out of me in that regard (teacher). I'm actually going to pull out of all my pbp games and take a break from the boards for a while.
Kayoss, I really enjoy your writing style and the fun things you were doing with the fey in this game. Was very fun watching the intereactions grow between the group and Aimee
My appologoes to the entire group for this, its extremely unfair on all of you but I really feel I need to do this.
Good luck in the future with all you do.
Cheers

Ameei |

"Not Miss just Ameei.. I don't need titles and it sounds a little strange." she informs Sam with a fond smile. Keeping the young man and his friends waiting for a moment as she wolfs down another few mouthfulls of the great food the young woman takes the oppertunity to formulate a response.
"Well it depends... I'm pretty sure that we'll have to travel out of the woods and head towards one of the nearest settlements. Brightwater isn't too far away really and it's a mostly elven community so it's a good bet that's where they have gone. It should only take a few days to get there as long as the woods don't play too many games."

Lyus Fivetrees |

Lyus puts down his knife and fork and uses a hunk of bread to mob up the remaining gravy.
“That’s better, Aye what manner of... thing we like to bump in ta’?”
He take drains the last of his drink and wipes the foam from his moustache.
“An’ how do you mean ‘tree’s play too many games’? There, not the most playful o’ things.”
It was then a horrible though struck him.
“Unless...”
[i] He grew slightly pallid, ‘tree’s can’t move... can they?’ For a man who made his living as a lumberjack this was a rather frightening thought. [/]

Samiel 'Sam' Longshanks |

Sam looks at Ameei
"Sorry Miss .... err Ameei, my Da always told me to be repectful when meeting new folks. I think that goes double around here!"
Sam looks alarmed by the woods playing games
"Are there Grandfather trees? My Da used to tell me stories about the tree shepherds who could make the entire forest move by their will alone! That would be a hard thing to escape."

Ameei |

Concentrating first on what Sam says the young girl smiles fondly at the polite young man. "You're probably right in general.. Being respectful is usually the best.. But we're friends so you can be more familiar."
Turning her attention to the other's questions Ameei can't help but giggle at the rememberance of Lyus' question. "Oh yes the trees can move.. well some of them can but it is quite rare. Also there are many things that we might come across. Basically if you can think of anything from legend it's probably here somewhere. I even get suprised by what's here."
Pausing to have a little more of her drink the young lady looses herself in the tastyness of the dark drink. "Oh Sam you're da sounds very interesting.. Did he tell you lots of old stories?"

Samiel 'Sam' Longshanks |

Sam looks wistful at Ameei's question
"Aye Ameei. We lived in the woods, my Da was a boundsman and he watched over the forest, culling the animals what were out of balance and warding the others from poachers. He said our family had done the same thing since the Time of Magic. My Da always said that there were many things that we folks didn't know about, an' there was real magic in the woods if you knew where to look. He always told me stories of the Grandfather Trees, the Dryads, the Elder Elves and the Seelie. I think seeing this place would make him so happy! He always said that magic was real, only sleeping. No one ever believed him."
Sam looks sad
"I hope he's OK"

Ameei |

Listening with rapt attention to Sam's tale the young girl's teeth catch her lower lip in a frankly adorable look of concern. Leaning across she hugs Sam tightly for a little while before settling back into her original position. "Aww.. That's really great and i'm sure he'll be fine and when we've found your missing friend maybe we'll be able to find a way to show him the magic."
