2000 characters isn't enough room to write a decent review!

I wrote up a nice review of the gazetteer but found it was 3500+ characters by the time I was done. I had to go prune it back to the bare minimum and it took 8 tries to get it to fit.

In which case, Pete, I'd suggest posting a short review, and then start an associated thread with an expanded discussion.

Well... I'm not interested in a discussion. I'm interested in providing a more in-depth review that is then available on the product page itself where a potential buyer would have full visibility.

If you bury the longer reviews in the message boards, the casual shopper is not going to see it.

That makes sense. But if you post the long "thread entry" on the same page as the review, anybody who opens the page to read the review would also be able to read the longer analysis.

But, if you're not interested in starting a discussion, that solution might not work for you.
