Nabthatoron linked with Adimarchus or Graz'zt?

Shackled City Adventure Path

Hallo to all, this is my first post here. I will soon start my SCAP and I just received yesterday my SCAP hardcover (before I only have the Dungeon Magazines).

I'm asking if someone developed any idea about linking General Nabthatoron to Adimarchus or maybe to Graz'zt. In my opinion Nabthatoron is a bit too distant from the SC core theme, but may be easily linked with it: what is your opinion?

Dark Archive

I personally enjoyed the fact that Nabthatoron was completely unconnected to Adimarchus and the Cagewrights. I run Shackled City within my own custom campaign world and so not everything happening in it NEEDS to be connected to one over-arching source. The demons of the skar, Spellmason, and the founding of Cauldron is its own legend and stands pretty well on its own. This is especially true if you constantly bring it up with events like The Demonskar Ball, and by constantly mentioning how important the Founder's Mythos is to the people of the city.

Nabthatoron is the boogey-man the people of Cauldron and the surrounding towns tell their children about when they are being bad. Few citizens believe he is still alive and no one thinks he is a threat. In my own campaign, the potential of his return has sent a chill of fear through the PCs. None of this requires him to be connected to Adimarchus.

OK, maybe nice that Nabthatoron isn't connected to "Adimarchus & the Cagewright plot", but whic Demon Prince is Nabthatoron's boss? Is this explained anywhere? Any idea? Demogorgon? Yeenoghu?
Thanks

The Exchange

Yeenoghu - it is stated in the introductory section where the opening is summarised (I got it the other day, so it is fresh in my memory).

But Nab is exiled. So, he may be independent now. In fact, as a gone-for-hire, that might be a good connection to Adimarchus. Would he have let the Cagewrights do all that stuff in Kuran-Karul without some sort of deal?

I actually made Nabthatoron into one of the Cagewrights - or Thirteen as I called them IMC.

I introduced him in an adventure based of the 'Iron Satyr' in Dungeon # 108. The Glabrezu was turned to stone in the early days of the Chisel. Over the centuries his body became totally buried, leaving only his petrified claws bare as standing stones in the centre of 'Redgorge'. The PCs were tricked by the beautiful succubus Viela (another member of the Thirteen) to help free the demon. Later on, Nabthatoron became the first of the Thirteen the PCs defeated.

By introducing the Thirteen earlier in the campaign and having the PCs encounter and fight some of them in the course of their career, their opponents become much more tangible and the campaign gets a much more cohesive feel to it.
