Gen Con Meet and Greets for those not playing games?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

This will be a real newbie question to many of you..

I wasn't going to attend Gencon this year, and I have never attended before. However some of my players, who do some freelancing art work of their own, are going up on Saturday.. not specifically to play games, but to network and just look around at stuff. They offered me a ride.

So I might be going one day anyway!

Are there any lectures or discussion groups with Paizoans on Saturday? Or just a chance to say hi?

I looked at the offical Excel sheet of events, but all I saw were actual game events.

There are always Paizoans hanging out at the Paizo booth running or going through the delve (which is typically free and doesn't require a sign up), playing pick-up board games with the Titan folks, etc. in addition to any official events. I know I spent most of my free time there just hanging out--actually with Gary Gygax one day, which was kinda' cool in its own right. So I'd say come on if you can make it. There'll be somebody there to say hi to.

There is also the PFAP preview seminar from 5-6pm. Check out the Seminars section of the online event listings. Hope to meet you in Indy, Watcher!

I think it would be wonderful if we had some sort of get-together - maybe after the PFAP Seminar that Scribbling Rambler mentioned?

Watcher, I know that you weren't intending to play, but there are also spaces still available in Society events at 8am (Hydra's Fang) and 1pm (Frozen Fingers).

Not just "typically" free, but TOTALLY FREE! And comes with the opportunity to win fabulous prizes! Why, some would say that, indeed, it's BETTER than free!

Last year was my first year to attend and I didn't schedule any playing and fully intended to wander around awestruck among the booths and hang out with folks.

This year I intend to do mostly the same thing. I'd love to meet some of you folks, but don't disappoint me by not being your avatars. Look for the six-foot tall mantis.

With Gary Gygax's signature on the right side of its thorax.

Thanks, Vic. I hadn't heard anything official and didn't want to speak out of turn.

So.....what he said, Watcher.

What will the Origins booth be like

The Delve too?

Going for the VS world champs

For as old as I am (I am starting to resemble my avatar more and more each passing day), I've never been to Gen Con. What's killing me is not only do I want to do and see a ton of things, but I really, really would love to meet up not only with other posters from Paizo's boards, but from the Dragonlance forums and Candlekeep as well. This is going to be a juggling act to be sure.

I can testify to that. The Seven Swords of Sin delves were cool. Didn't win a sword, but had a blast.

Saturday is my busiest day at Gen Con. Off the hook busy.

I'd love to meet you folks though. I have much more leeway on all days other than Saturday.

If anyone has a good digital videocamera and a free Saturday afternoon at Con, there's a major event that could use a helping hand and it would be a relaxed and fun time. I'll buy you lunch and be in your debt.

ronebarton@gmail.com for details. I don't want to give too much away in public forum just yet.

It would be nice to have something to hang of your badge that stated something like..."Pathfinder Superscriber".
