Gorum in this AP / Korvosa

Curse of the Crimson Throne

Will Gorum or any of his disciples make an appearance in this AP? As once again I have someone who wants to play a Warpriest down the line, and what better diety than Gorum for that?

Gorum and his minions do not play a role, really, in Curse of the Crimson Throne. There are a lot of barbarian elements in there, particularly in Pathfinder #10, but even then the Gorum elements are pretty minor.

Excellent. Thanks!

You can always play one, regardless of whether the other priests will play a role in the adventure path.

In fact, it's much better that way, because they won't steal your glory! Much more infidels for you to kill.

Just remember that your deity's a little outlawed in Korvosa.

Aye, I just wanted to make sure that Gorum wasn't popping up in this as that'd be a huge disappointment to the PC if he knew nothing about what his own deity was doing.

In this situation I have three dwarven brothers, one a follower and eventual WarPriest of Gorum, one a follower, and eventual Church Inquisitor of Iomedae, and one who was a Favored Soul of Nethys destined to become a Runesmith. The PCs are the Gorum and Iomedae followers and the Favored Soul is and NPC cut down by Gaedren Lamm's thugs as their hook into that aspect of the AP.

in Guide to Korvosa it says Gorum is one of 3(? I'm at work so don't have the books to hand but I think it's Gorum, Lamashtu and Rovagug) gods that have no shrine in the Pantheon of Many and whilst worshipers of these gods exist in the city they tend to keep to themselves. So yeah, it doesn't say anywhere that worship of Gorum is illegal, but certainly isn't encouraged and it's probably not a good idea to be too public about it.

Correct. Gorum is often associated with barbarians, and Korvosa's a little skittish/afraid of barbarians due to its history with the Shoanti. As a result, Gorum's one of the only deities not represented in the Pantheon of the Many in Korvosa, and his clerics & worshipers are looked upon as likely rabble-rousers and troublemakers by the city. His worship's not illegal... but neither is it welcome in Korvosa.

Just to be clear, Korvosans fear no barbarians. ;D

That's why I've said "a bit outlawed". Not much. Just a wee bit.

Of course he doesn't know what his own deity is doing. They're not their deitie's mother. Or maybe they are, because mothers never know what their children are doing.

Anyway, while they know the general idea about what their deities are usually up to, but they won't get notified if their god has to go to the bathroom.

Metaphorically speaking, of course. Probably metaphysically, too.

As for Gorum, I guess the type of notification he and his church gives the faithful goes along the lines of CHAAAAARGE! :D

But they're a little hesitant to start poking the hornet's nest with a stick, so to speak. ;)

Okay, I'll grant you that. Cuz then they'd just have to exterminate all those pests.

Again.

;)

Just for those of you who are a bit shaky on your Taldar: I am pretty certain that the strange sigil at the bottom of Mike's post roughly translates to:

"Please do not cut me into tiny pieces. I retract the above entirely. I only said that because of my suppressed jealousy of all those awesome Quahs out there."

or something substantially similar. We wouldn't want anyone to accidentally misunderstand.

Cause that would be. . . very bad.

Make a virtue out of a need. The Annual Barbarian Annihilation Holiday. You'd slaughter natives, have fun in some booths, and then eat until you burst. You can bring the kids, they get baloon animals made to look like barbarian tribe totems. And then they pop them with pricks.
