It's been said that Pathfinder Companion #1 will essentially be the Second Darkness Player's Guide. So will Pathfinder subscribers get it with their copy of volume 13? If so, will we get a second one if we already have subscriptions?
I believe that Pathfinder Subscribers will get Companion Number One for free.
Afterwards, you need to buy the Companions, or subscribe the Companion product line.
My understanding is that because Companion #1 is filling the role of that the Player's Guide used to do, they're giving that one free to Pathfinder subscribers to bridge the gap and ease transition. So no one goes, "Hey, we used to get Player's Guides for free, WTF?!" It also makes a nice sales pitch for the rest of Companion Books to follow.

I am a subscriber both to Pathfinder and the Pathfinder Companion. Will I get two copies (one per subscription) or just one (bundling the new line along the older subscription)?
I saw this one answered by Vic in a previous post..
Just one.
The reason being that they're only going to give one free copy to anybody. They assume that the large majority of people only want one copy (specifically one that is free), so that becomes the default.
You could think of the Companion Subscription as really only starting with #2, since #1 is coming free with the Pathfinder Subscription.
If you really want two, you'll have to order and pay for the second one.

Will Pathfinder subscribers be able to download the PDF version when the free print copy ships? Or would we have to be Companion subscribers as well, since free PDFs are subscriber bonuses.
I seldom get this many answers correct in row, so I am going to quit while I'm ahead.
Vic?! Could you field this question please?

This is an excellent question, and one that we hadn't anticipated. Fortunately, we have a little while to come up with the answer. (I suspect that we'll want to give you the PDF, unless the notion of doing so makes Gary Teter cry.)

If the first issue is going to be free of charge, how come my waiting to ship box shows a price of $8.49?

First of all, that page is misleading if not outright wrong about a lot of things. Gary's getting fairly close to rolling out a replacement that will show things much more clearly and accurately.
However, the main reason you're seeing a price there is that we haven't yet done the work to make it free. (In fact, you may not see that it's free until just before it ships in August.)
Regardless of the display, let me assure you that if you subscribe to the Pathfinder Adventure Path and the Pathfinder Companion, you'll get one copy of Pathfinder Companion: Second Darkness, and you won't pay for it.

As was stated in another thread concerning Pathfinder Companion, August is approaching. Is there any news regarding PDF availability with the free print copies that will be sent to adventure path subscribers?
I just checked with Gary, and he says it's not too difficult, so... Yes! Pathfinder subscribers will get a free PDF of Pathfinder Companion: Second Darkness, as well as a free print copy, along with their subscription copy of Pathfinder 13.
