Hru Gorumgrag
Hru attempts to console Clareg with words. "He went charging, in battle....for what it's worth, it was a good death." He mumbles a prayer to the Knight of Swords in orc, but quietly, acutely aware of how the dwarves view his heritage, he then says to Clareg, "There's always payback and it's a wul!"
Rellios
Rellios nods his agreement to look into the back passage way, but can't see much without some kind of light source.
He whispers, "Someone else want to take a look, or should I get a light source. I can probably hide...but it might give our position away to anyone in there who spots the sudden source..."
A hooded latern with minimal light should allow me to see with poor illumination - you call on how much that might be - per guidelines.
May be unavailable for the next couple of hours, if there's some auto actions DM or party want me take, go ahead. Except don't get me stuck under that stone block trap, ok?
Klyndak
He sees nothing of value or interest.
That's just showing you the typical lack of interest shown by non-dwarves when it comes to stone work. I assure you, that small, narrow passage had some very interesting features for the trained eye of a dwarf. ;)
Going back out into the other room, I observe that the elf is having trouble with the dark. I take a peer down the passage myself, seeing as far as I can before I create a light for my comrades.
Afterwards, (assuming we are not attacked) I conjure up an arcane light for the elf, even placing it within his hooded lantern for him.

Ahem: Other than the smoothness of the stone, the levelness of the corridor, and the fact that even after being abandoned for hundreds of years and taken over by goblins the corridor remains in excellent condition ... the dwarf finds nothing of value or of interest.
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Klyndak:
Taking a few steps forward and peering around the corner allows the dwarf to see room full of rotten mats, cracked bones, flung feces, and javelins.
In the centre of the room, nine goblins are playing a game that seems to involve sticking their hands inside a cage covered in a hide for as long as possible. One sticks its hand in and the others begin to count. When he pulls his hand out, they announce the score. The highest score wins. ... The game would make a lot more sense if they were all capable of counting but arguments are breaking out on whethers 'sores' come before 'fixes' and 'fours' before 'sixes' or vice versa.
The opposite wall of the room is covered by a banner painted with a writhing red worm dripping in blood.
Kannonfodder
"Pssst," whispers Clareg from behind you "Are you just gonna stand there? Let's kill some goblins."
MAP.
Klyndak
Returning back to the center of the room, I lay a hand on Clareg's shoulder to prevent him from charging in, and says softly, "Theres nine of them. Two fer each 'n one extra."
To Clareg, I say, "We'll all be after chargin' 'n together. The elf needs a light."
Before we rush in, I want to cast Light for the elf and then Magic Weapon on my hammer. I also hand my crossbow to Clareg and tell him to quietly load it.
Rellios
"Thanks for the light," Rellios whispers as he covers the hood again on Klyndak's light for his lantern.
He then advises, "Let me get into position before you make your charge."
Rellios quietly sneaks across the entrance hallway to the opposite side of the room's entrance point - using the wall as his guide. The idea being that he'll be in position for a sneak attack (or flanking at least) once the attack begins. Stealth (1d20+6=17)

Stealth (1d20+6=17)
The goblins are so distracted by their game that Rellios is able to sneak across the room. There is a door in that recess there.
Klyndak
When all is ready.
"If you 'ave a prayer for us, be sayin' it now," I whisper to the prayer thrower and then, fully prepared (and having made sure the elf was in place) I motion that the attack should commence. For my target I pick the largest goblin and charge in without a word in order to attack. Perhaps it is anger over Dareg's death. Perhaps it is simple disgust at the thought of goblins in dwarven halls, but my attack is flawless.
Charging attack with magicked warhammer: (1d20+2+1+2=25) WOOT
Critical confirmation: (1d20+2+1+2=19)
Damage: (2d8+4+2=16) !!!!
That, I would guess, is real overkill. ^_^

Clareg says nothing as he charges in, following the lead of his commander, but as his axe sweeps down and separates an arm from a body he says "Die you ..." but does not finish. His face is so red with anger that it would little doubt that he is in the second stage of the dwarven grief-cycle: bloodlust.
He shifts the swing of his axe so that instead of hitting the floor it slides into the side of the adjacent goblin, killing it as well.

We'll save that attack for after Rellios' surprise round attack and then put it in the initiative order you bloodthirsty half-orc.

Its hard to be patient when you're doing so well. Doing well that is aside from losing comrades to flying ogre traps. Still 5+ dead in the surprise round is nice. :)
Rellios
Perhaps it's the unexpected fury with which the trio attacks, or the lack of good lighting, but when Rellios springs from hiding it is with a less dramatic and effective attack to take out one of the goblins:
Rapier (1d20=8)Rapier Damage (1d6+2=5)

Assuming there's a goblin left by my turn...
Rellios pins one of the little buggers like a fly with a thrust of his blade:
Klyndak
Expecting the goblins to fight, I am taken by surprise as they attempt to flee and my attack is just a little to slow to catch the closest goblin.
Attacking a fleeing goblin: (1d20+2+1=7)
"Don't be lettin' 'em get away!" I yell angrily.
EDIT: All our hopes are on Clareg now for the last goblin...
Tarren the Dungeon Master
After I bit I do indeed restrain Clareg just a tad.
"'Ere now lad, Ye don't wan' ta be bringin' attention ta ourselves. There'll be more of the little critters."
Then, while the elf examines the box, I take a look at the room and especially at the banner hanging on the wall.
You can see that there is a room behind the banner. You hear a voice speaking in goblin behind it:
"They come. He calls. What say the bones ... ? AAAAAAAAAAAGGHHH!"
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Letting Clareg finish the job, Rellios turns to towards the unconscious goblins and the container he had his hand in. If possible, he'll inspect it to see if we can figure out what's inside.
Once that's done, he'll check the door to see if its locked or trapped.
Are you needing to make any rolls here?
Klyndak
"We ain't after bein' done yet lads," I hiss and motion them over to where I am standing near the banner.
Then I poke my head behind it, trying to look gingerly through the opening to see what lies in the other room.
Is this the only other doorway other than the one we came through? Or did I miss the mention of another door?
Tarren the Dungeon Master
The door wasn't mentioned. Rellios ended up in that nook and found it. If you look on the map you can see it. He followed the wall across the room and into the nook to set up a flanking position and found it then.
Klyndak:
The banner of a bloodyworm divides the room from another chamber. Looking through, you see that chamber is painted with writhing, bloody worms eating each other and twisting in on each other. They also seem to be runes of some sort but you can't decipher their meanings at a casual glance.
At the back of the room, a hunchbacked old goblin tosses bone dice. She says: "Blood thralls, eh? Sent by the master, were you? We'll see if fortune shines on your bloody leech today!"
Klyndak
Must have missed the map :/ Do I understand the map aright that the stairs continue further up the spire? And down as well?
I rip back the banner and charge into the room at the goblin with the bones, thinking to myself that if she is truly a spellcaster, I don't want her able to catch a break and cast a goblin spell upon us.
Charging the goblin with the bones: (1d20+2+2+1=20)
Damage: (1d8+2+1=10)
"Back me up me lads," I holler as I charge.
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Here's the map.
Will follow up after dinner. You guys are just slicing through this dungeon.
Tarren the Dungeon Master
The crone turns as she hears the banner rip and begins to gesticulate wildly. It doesn't take a wizard to know what she's doing.
Klyndak charges across the room and strikes her with his warhammer. She stumbles back, wounded but not dead and with a great show of willpower finishes her spell.

DC 12 Will save or nighty-nite everyone -- except the elf, of course.
As I feel the mystical energies strive to sap my strength, I breathe deeply and fight the spell. Only my natural dwarven resistance enables me to stay upright against the fell witch.
Will Save (+ Racial Bonus): (1d20+4+2=13)
"It'll take more than that to be stoppin' this Hammerfoe!," I cry.
Nevertheless the spells effects are enough to make my next swing sluggish.
The rest of the group followed behind like they was ordered, right guys ;)
Hru Gorumgrag
Hru is moving rapidly into the room as the the arcane energy washes over him.
Will save (1d20+5=9) nighty night! doh!
He stumbles then pitches forward dropping the greatsword as he lapses into a dweomered slumber....
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Argh, useless, the both of ye. Now where is that elf. At least 'e won't be goin' all sleepy on me.
I believe he's checking out the door ... far, far away. Too far to reach you before:
The witch grabs a dazzling spear and stabs wildly at the dwarf, piercing his side and penetrating even his magical protection.
4 pts of damage
Oh, and Hru, I forgot your 3 points of fire damage from earlier.
Tarren the Dungeon Master
Must have missed the map :/ Do I understand the map aright that the stairs continue further up the spire? And down as well?
My artistic skills leave something to be desired. I'm still patting myself on the back about photoshopping three images together to get this. The stairs continue further up the spire. They spiral around it. They do not continue further down. You have yet to see the stairs on the other side of the spire but they seem to continue around. You are still about 80' from the top. I think they circle around 1/2 more times.
Klyndak
"Arggh!" I yell in frustration. Her attack spurs me awake and with a strong swing of my precious hammer I land a blow up alongside her head.
Attacking the goblin witch: (1d20+2+1=18)
Damage: (1d8+2+1=11) :D
"Never be trustin' an elf ta be backin' ya up," I remind myself through gritted teeth.
