Famed science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke has passed away today.

His 1968 story “2001: A Space Odyssey” is a classic. He was a visionary author, and is credited with coming up with the idea of communication satellites in space.

Arthur C. Clarke formulated the following three "laws" of prediction:

  • When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
  • The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
  • Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

    Been there-done that...String Theory invalidates Religion and Evolution. Life Creates Black Holes by creating change in Possibility...and Arthur C. went to his grave disappointed that we haddnt found proof of life out there...Phut!
