M Human Scout 2

Keegan's righ'ere, sirrah. Riddy fer some arction.

Much like a barbazu waits for the inevitable battle, Raphael d'Adarrin waits for the action to begin.

Male Gnome Sor 2 EP:?

A quiet day, like any other. Effan Effluvium sits at his workbench repairing and making shoes and boots. But today that is about to change. For today Effan enters, The False Hope Zone.

still thinking on feat, familiar -- probably cat, and the second first level spell. Oh, and about whistling.

The Exchange

Male Dworc (half-dwarf/half-orc) Monk4/Barbarian2/Rogue2/Jack-of-all-Trades2/Master of None2/Quasi-diety2

Keegan, Raphael and Effan are all approved and ready to roll.
Jaden, Faldor and Curaigh's PC yet to be finalized here.

Effan Effluvium.....Sounds like some type of curse heard in a mad scientist's lab. "Dammit! The Effin' Effluvium won't maintain stable mass!"
Hee-he. I like it.

BTW, This is the avatar I will be using for DMing this.

well i am here

Jaden Thorm wrote:

Approved, although I think you are using a Hide Shirt but have it listed as Hide. I would like to avoid confusion on the subject, so once you add 'shirt' after it, Jaden is ready for adventure.

Male Human Fighter 2

Ok all changed, i looking into the it alittle more, and pathfinder hide armour, is meddium and slows speed, but does not give anymore Ac then a hide shirt, which does not slow.

All changed, and just waiting for the next go ahead.

Keegan, Raphael, Jaden, and Effan are all approved and ready to roll.
Faldor and Curaigh's PC yet to be finalized here.
Almost there...

Male Gnome Bard 2

Faldor is ready for scrutiny though still lacks his Fox and his lute which I'm waiting on information for.

Faldor O'Gistoresh wrote:

The fox you just need to stat up and throw into a spoiler in your stats somewhere.

For the lute.....
You sank some skill points into crafting it and I assume that before the adventure you would have some time so......
Your hard work and diligence has enabled you to craft a lute of exceptional quality. You managed to make a Masterwork Lute. But it cost you 45gp.

Also for Raphael, you did manage to create 1 dose of the Drow Sleeping Poison.....
I am assuming you took your time. Just make sure you can post the proper game stats for it at the time it is needed. Standard cost for 1 dose.

Keegan, Raphael, Jaden, Faldor and Effan are all approved and ready to roll.
Curaigh's PC yet to be finalized here.
No rush bro, I know you have stuff going on.
Post when you can. We are almost ready to start.

Male Gnome Bard 2

Well I've not only made my lute but trained a fox. What a busy gnome I am. Stats for Jahn the fox are up. And I cannot believe he has more health then I do.

Oh just FYI Fakey... You kinda have the whole Oogie Boogie thing going on there with that avatar. *Brakes into the Oogie Boogie song*

"Nice job Hurly, I'll be back t'morrow," he says squinting his eyes and trying to remember what day tomorrow is. "I think so anyway."

Nice. Approved also. Assume you have 2 'scrolls' if you like(don't worry about the XP) that you made. I will try to get the game thread going today, so you may have to gut-check and make a final decision on the variant abilities.

I like Hozs.

All approved and ready to roll.
I will post a link to the game thread here when I get it posted.
Hopefully sometime today.

Well, from what I can see, Jaden and Hors (from his background and job), might know each other a bit, as Hors would be bringing wood to the mill, and he does have a little bit, if so what untrained, woodworking skill.

Keegan could come off as someone to find good places for lumber camps, and could be maping out the wood cuts for the Lumber Consortium. Raphael would also come off as someone that would be an office kind of guy, doing up contracts for them as well.

Effan, being the first of the gnomes in the group, seems to come off as a bit of a loner, but seems to have skill with leather, so would do well with the amount of work in the town, and would have plenty of work for new boots and shoes.

Faldor would be known by a few of us, as he is the bar rat(ok bar rat that sings and tell stories) so he would be well liked in the slightly over worked town.

Not trying to set up how anyone thinks, just thinking out loud, if you all wanted we could be on the golf team, or we could light bags of poo and leave them on door steps for giggles. I just like to look at the group and see what could have been happening, becase this is set in a town where most of us live in for a good amount of time, as apart to the, well you are all in a bar and having a drink.

But this is just how I am, I talk and plot, and I like to hear what you all think, seeing how most of us are all over the place and do not get to sit in the same room and eat hot pockets. So just some ideas, but we are all adults and this is a discussion, so I hope I get at least one gold star for effort.

BTW, I forgot to mention that Darkwood is a fairly commonplace in town due to it being fairly prolific throughout the forests. All darkwood items cost 1/2 the normal price and any 'Peacekeepers' and sheriffs carry Darkwood clubs. Axes can have darkwood handles(counts as 1/3 the weapons weight(rounded down) for the darkwood part), staves can be made of darkwood, and of course shields are commonly made of darkwood around here.
If anyone wants to adjust their equipment to accomodate some darkwood items, feel free to.

Yup, Raphael works for the Lumber Consortium as a scribe... among other duties.

You get more than one Gold Star from me! I was just trying to figure out the dynamics of the party in relation to one another and you summed it up quite well.

If anyone wants to be on friendly terms with one another, start figuring out how you know each other and let us all know your thoughts.
It isn't necessary that you all know one another as you can still jump into the group fairly seemlessly without knowing one another by the adventure's opening scene(not telling yet).
Thanks for the effort, Kail'er. I have a good feeling about this group.
;)

Male Tiefling Rogue 3/Transmuter 8/Evil Genius 4

Well, anyone who works for the Lumber Consortium might know Raphael. However, he isn't really the type to be on friendly terms with many people. He still feels high and mighty--pureblood Chelaxian and all--despite certain events in his past... He might get along with other Chelaxians, though.

Male Human Fighter 2

well i changed my wooden sheild for a large darkwood, so it made me a little lighter and adds to def by one and it being larger then the small wooden, i can bash if i need now. I am so glad that me likeing to blab made a little inpack.

Cool.

BTW, I added something to your background- You live with the miller, Denick Miller, by name and his daughter Vickellia. Vicki has recently come down with a hacking phlemmy cough that resists all efforts to be treated.

Effan Effluvium, also for your background.
Mary, the cobbler's wife with whom you currently reside, has come down with a sickly hacking cough that has start to contain small flecks of blood in it as of this morning. All attempts to comfort or cure her seem to be for naught.

I am gonna assume that Hozs and Jaden are on friendly terms. Hozs has always had a good relationship with the Miller, his daughter(who finds his child-like looks and quiet manner to be refreshing), and with Jaden, who finds the druid to be quite knowledgable in the local flora and fauna. Hozs is also on good terms with Laurel, the local Herbalist, and frequently brings her herbs and roots from the environs that surround the town, usually by her request unless he stumbles across something rare.
She pays for his efforts by providing teas and the occasional poultice to the druid.

Probably on good terms with Keegan, as they both are full-blooded fiendish Chelaxians, as well as having astronomical intelligences and misanthropic tendencies.

I can imagine them at some bar, Raphael with a glass of wine, Keegan with a pile of empty shot glasses, both grumbling about how much they hate the people they work with...

Ha! Yep, that's pretty much Raphael.

Don't forget to add that one dose of sleep poison to your sheet also. I figure that you could at least have taken some precautions and whatnot while distilling/mixing it that would allow some bonuses and blah, blah, blah....

I felt generous.

I suspected a malicious DM would strike at my friends, no matter how old feeble and unable to defend themselves. I warn you now if the old lady dies I'll come looking for you.

On the other hand, maybe she'll die and I'll be free to hit the road again!!!!

I should mention that Effan is actually pretty friendly and tries very hard to remember all his patrons. Just let me know if you've purchased boots from him and if you were snooty.

Reminds me I need to throw in a quick physical description.

well me not being to uptodate with the whole clobler thing effan, what else could you make, i got the boot and shoes, would work gloves, and light leather covers for the horses to keep dust and wood chips out of there coats.
If that is the case, then you would see all kinds of work, as it would help keep the horses cleaner, and me cutting wood all nice and quick. Seeing effan would have made Jaden smile if on a better day.

Male Gnome Bard 2

Just wanted to let you know. I'd not only be a tavern fly but I'd walk the streets as well. This town has a strong need for my services of distraction. I'm here to bring a little bit of magic and joy into the town.

M Human Scout 2

Cor, I'd be drinkin', I would.

Male Gnome Sor 2 EP:?

Faldor. Fakey threw us together in his game post. Makes sense, two gnomes in a town of coarse humans. You could probably shack up with me and Mary. You'd have to leave your drinkin' in the bar though. Mary's a teetotaler. Faldor probably reminds Effan of home, since his family was of a bardic bent.

Fakey,

Added familiar, a Calico kitty anmed Catharine.

Swapped out appraise for knwoledge (local or geography) to reflect Effan's journy to the hollow and hikes around town. Which of local or geography is more appropriate?

Switched feat to improved initiative.

Still got to add physical description.

Both are helpful in different ways. One way will give you better local knowledge which will help in town and with a couple wilderness checks, while Geography will help a little in town and be more useful in the wilderness.

"Hollow's last hope is a wilderness and dungeon adventure for four 1st level characters." is what the first line of the adventure description says. I ain't gonna spoil it anymore than that.

If he is bitter, i think him and Jaden, will get along.

I do have a good question for the dm, do you have any prolems with say a change in alinment in game, This does have all the things needed to make a good person change, possable love one dieing and not a inportant person around that will help, possable upriseing in town with the big bussness, and some of us work for them, so we could see a bit of role playing, and even some hot tempers.

I am so want get into combat with this group too, i am right out of practice, and would love to see what will happen.

I can go with the changes BUT!

If the PC turns evil and decides to start trying to kill party members that PC will become an NPC and the party will need to probably put him/her down. Basically I am fine with shades of grey, but I treat Evil the same whether it is from the party's perspective or the game world's perspective......evil is gonna lose. The righteous will be summoned forth to slay the evil ones. PC starts offing random townsfolk, he can expect to be caught, tried and executed.
But a PC being an a$$hole or self-centered is cool. I just think evil isn't some guy being an a$$. It's some guy planning to poison a town water supply to teach them a lesson for exiling him.

Thanks! Almost missed that. The poison's primed and ready in my rapier's weapon capsule. It's typical (drow) sleeping poison, DC 13 Fort save to resist. If the first save fails, the foe falls unconscious for 1 minute, after which it gets a second save. If that fails, the foe stays unconscious for 2d4 hours. As he's not a fan of physical combat, the poison is Raph's ace up his sleeve, helping him escape unharmed if words and spells fail.

And as for Raph being from a generally evil place and working for a not-so-nice Consortium doing shady work, he isn't evil himself. He's a self-centered, prejudiced, professional liar, but he would never harm someone who didn't deserve it and he has been known to be on friendly terms with a few people.
