Ok, so Vraxeris researched and created a very powerful and very cool clone spell. Unfortunately it is not detailed anywhere in the book, and Vraxeris' spell book is obtainable as loot. Was it cut? Or do you think you guys could write it up here so that the PCs (who will definitely want a hold of it) can get it?
It seems odd that he'd never record the spell: It would make relearning it every iteration faster. I'd suggest that instead of a 9th level spell, it's actually an Epic spell, and he had to reach 21st level every time. Since Epic spells are known, and not part of a spellbook, it isn't available as loot. His notes provide the information the players might need to 'Develop' the spell for themselves when they reach epic.

That's my general take on the spell. It effectively grants immortality, unlike the 8th level clone spell, and it really DOES function like an epic spell as a result. That's also why there's not much recorded about it... he never really FINISHED designing the spell, because the intrinsic flaws in the spell were so great that all that remains are his notes. A PC could try to emulate his notes and pick up where he left off... but it's not really an effect that a non-epic spell can generate. The best a non-epic PC can hope for is the same fate that hit him.
