Even more so because she left me on 2hp... she would have killed me with her second attack. BTW, this is the URL for the d20 SRD, I find that it is incredibly useful for rules questions. www.d20srd.org

Pointing at Arronath, "Barkeep, a drink for my friend here. First blood, eh."

"Here, here! The girl did well," admits Smokey hesitantly.

Male Human WIzard 3/ Cleric 3

Seeming not to notice that a womans head was vaporised earlier today, Bence goes on about the task at hand.

"So what do you fellas think? Hide and seek sounds like fun..."

Cheetah

The cheetah looks up from his ministrations, his tail flicking and a predatory gleam in his eyes.

The Gnome continues, seeing signs of interest. He was last scene in his room, one room down from your own. If you could make sure that he is safe, it would be ideal

Cheetah

Arronath stops to concentrate for a moment. The wound on his flank briefly glows green and seems to close slightly.

Hands of Our Mother - 1d8+1=2

So I can look at the spoiler.

"So its a boy, we're looking for? Any other distinguishing features?" Steiner asks as he finishes off the last of his drink.

Male Human WIzard 3/ Cleric 3

sorry i had no idea arronath was so hurt

cure moderate wounds (2d8 3=12)

"I dont mind going and checking on the boy... does this mean we have permishion to search the whole train?"

The Gnome looks concerned for a minute...

Well, Yes. Be Thorough, but be warned the bachai, our freeloading friends in the car behind yours, aren't as friendly as they appear...But I'm sure finnegan isn't back there, but if you must...

Mind your own business Gnome -- now screw off! Cleric 3 / Rogue 3

Smokey tags along with bored disinterest.

Bence wrote:

bad spelling crits you all for 500... Note to self: no more posting after 3.30am

Bence thanks the gnome and heads off to the boys cabin. He knocks once and enters.

logos something i keep forgetting to ask... where would my familiar be? if it is with me then its probably sleeping in a pocket while the suns up

Cheetah

Arronath pads along with the group, keeping a nose out for the 'puppy'.

Smoky read here for OOC ramblings...

Spoiler:

Saw this feat and thought of you...

I'm Not gonna Eat That!
You look so unappetizing that nothing wants to put you in its mouth for fear of how you taste.
Prerequisite: Gnome
Benefit: Any living creature trying to bite you suffers a -4 morale penalty on its attack roll. Creatures with the Swallow WHole ability must succeed on a WIll Save (DC 10 plus half your character level plus you Charisma modifier, treating a negative modifier as if it were positive) or they cannot bring themselves to swallow you (although they can still chew on you and deal damage to you).

The correct answer would be whereever you put him last, if you have a familure he started the game with you , beside you in bed.

** spoiler omitted **

Spoiler:

;-)

Everyone quickly finds the puppies room, the signs of a struggle are apparent, the sheets wildly disarranged.

His scent is easily discernible to anyone with smell, it goes into the back car, who's door is now open.

if anyone searches

Spoiler:
First Come First Served, Dog Collar of Armour (+4), only works if your a blink dog by a certain name....

The sounds of merriment and the smell of meat roasting assails your senses as you get closer to the door to the back of the train.

Male Human WIzard 3/ Cleric 3

"Lets see what can find..."

untrained search (1d20=12)

"... Hmm what do we have here <holding up the collar>"

"Well I think it is safe to say wherever our young friend is he probably didn't go willingly." Bence says as he looks over the signs of struggle. Keep an eye out for blood... it could lead us to the dog... or more likely, his attacker."

at this point my bat familiar is on my shoulder.

Cheetah

Prowl to the door where the smell of cooking meat is coming from. Hide Check: (1d20+6=24) to stay hidden in the doorway as I look in, praying they are not having blink dog flambé.

The Next Car is empty, but the beyond that threw the door you can make out what looks like a lively scene. A party, lots of ale and mead and good looking women, all festuned with silver jewlery and coin belts. They being drunken partiers seems to be taking no notice of you lot.

Taking 20 on my search check

Steiner grabs a mug of mead and flashes his many fanged maw at any who objects to the group's intrusion. He proceeds to conduct a very invasive search of the car. "Move over there, gotta look under this seat. Security Check."

The Raucus crowd for the most part , parts way, however the way is crowded and you quickly find yourself as big as you are being pushed and shoved by the mass of people as much as anyone else (Systematic Searching is Impossible, Roll the dice please).

Male Human WIzard 3/ Cleric 3

Bence heads to the cart with the party, pushing past people to get to the rear and discover what is being roasted.

Rolled a 3.

At the rear of the cart, you see several cats and dogs being roasted, and you see several more tied or layed out getting ready for it. The Blink Dog is awake and trussed, and says in a low furious voice at the newcomers

"Help Me, I'm Sentient, There's been some kind of terrible mix up"

The Chef, is a huge Ogre who duel wields tong and spatula bit and mean enough looking that you don't want to mess with him.

None of the bachai seem particularly disturbed that a potential meal is talking....

Logos

"Whoa, there Chef, the talking dog is with me."

If the Chef insists on carving the blinkie, Steiner intervenes.

Male Human WIzard 3/ Cleric 3

Bence walks over the the blink dog and begins to untie him.

The Ogre growls, and then says in a menacing tone,

"That Hot Dog is Mine!"

The Entire Car is Suddenly silent, and the menace from everyone is palpable.

Mind your own business Gnome -- now screw off! Cleric 3 / Rogue 3

"C'mon big guy ... I'm sure I'd make a better meal than that measly little thing. Why don't you try to take a bite out of me."

Smokey glances down once to make sure he's wearing his boots and extends the middle finger to the ogre.

1d20+1=21 initiative

If the ogre charges me, I attempt to teleport behind the ogre to the area where the animals are being roasted. I'm hoping that a spit will make a nice, improvised weapon.

Steiner matches and surpasses the volume of the Ogre's voice, "Hot Dog Mine !!!"

Intimidate (1d20+8=19)

Ready for Attack

Init (1d20+5=23)

Cheetah

Arronath is somewhat surprised that so many would leap to the aid of a beast that is not known to them, especially as they are not fellow followers of Saluwé but none the less prepares for combat.

Initiative Roll: (1d20+4=7)

Smokey doesn't give a dog-darn about the hot dog. He's just got a weird combination of a deathwish and a strong instinct for self-preservation. This may create some trouble for you.

The Crowd almost instictively detecting it, starts chanting Fight Fight Fight, which soon envelops all the sounds in this car. The maliciousness falling over you like waves of heat.

Init:Crowd, Steiner, Bence, Smokey, Ogre, Arroth

Steiner, prepares for a epic battle, but feels unlikely that it will happen as smokey flips the bird to the ogre.

Bence continues untieing the dog, getting up and getting girded for battle.

Smokey, Flips the bird and gets ready to tap his heels

The Ogre says in a menacing voice

Come to me , ZATARI!

Suddenly an instrument from the tool rack, comes flying into his hands, what you orignially thought was a huge tenderizer is actually a double ended tendererizer of gigantic proportions.

The Ogre Charges the little one, only to be disappointed when he disappears behind him into the tool rack.

Smokey: You have your choice, Dirty Butchers Knife, or red hot spar.

Arronoth looks around in confusion, and the crowd in the disapproval of the avoidence of combat for a few seconds starts throwing tankards

Everybody take 6 damage as many steal, brass and glass tankards are hurled half full at you, the crowd venomously screaming at you. FIGHT!
(you don't have to post in inititive, I was just letting you all know, but I will be addressing you actions in inititive)

Either one could cause Smokey harm, so he's happy. I think I'll chance infecting myself with a dirty butcher's knife.

Smokey grabs the butcher's knife and charges the ogre.

1d20+6=15 ... higher if he is allowed to charge.

Smokey rolled a 1 for damage. I assumed it was a 1d3 weapon but, in any case, can't get lower than a 1.

Cheetah

Arronath expends his focus to Empower an Energy Ray(fire) at this brute who would so barbarically kill a sentient being.

Energy Ray (Fire) - 6d6+6 + 50% - 6PP + 2PP(empower)

DC 2 Powersurge Check: (1d20=2) - Powersurge (+2d6+2 damage)
DC 2 Ennervation Check: Autofail, losing 6pp and dazed next round

Ranged Touch Attcak: (1d20+8=21)
Damage Roll: ((8d6+8)*1.5=54.0)

Arronath yowls with surprise as his diadem activates a second time in very short order.

"Taste my justice!" Steiner swings his greataxe and brings it down on the ogre.

Power Attack (1d20+7=10, 1d12+13=18)

Arronoth the feline, shots ray death out of his eyes, singing the ogre badly, the crowd cheers' their tankards held in the grand display of violence.

Steiner surges forward missing as the ogre begins his relentless assult on arronoth.

Bence finishes untying the dog, raise a small chorus of boo's that are overwhelmed by the soundless bloodlust of the audience.

Smokey charges in at the ogre with his dirty butcher knife, seeming much like a sword in smokey's hand, He hits with surprising force for 6 damage (I upped you to a d6 and rolled for you, nice damage :)

The Ogre Charges at Arronoth, 21 to hit, 30 Damage as the ogre thunders down the great tenderizer of doom upon you.

Oppurtunity Attack on the ogre from steiner

The crowd's disdain of you lot is becoming clearer every moment, (Will dc 20 or -1 to all you do for as long as the crowd is like this)

(Steiner, bence, Smokey, Ogre, Arronoth, (you just missed your round like you ought to right arronoth)

Logos, I saw your last post in the recent post section under your profile, but it's not appearing in this thread. But it says that I should take an attack of opportunity vs. the Ogre.

Attack of Opportunity (1d20+9=22, 1d12+10=12)

Male Human WIzard 3/ Cleric 3

Bence, although bruised by the tankards, continues to make sure the dog is okay.
Good idea fellas, keep up the distraction
Heal check
(1d20 8=22)

Cheetah

Arronath falls to the ground unconscious, his reeling mind trying to gain the focus he needs to stabilize his wounds.

10% stabilization check: (1d100=84) - fail

i also didnt see this post... therefore had no idea i could be healing arronath not healchecking the dog... i'd like to add somthing to my action.

Changed action:

Spoiler:

Before the heal check on the dog Bence casts cure moderate wounds (2d8 3=13) into Battatoille (my familiar) to deliver to Arronath.

Smokey Bogwash steps up on something ... anything that is not moving really ... and begins to croke out a ballad:

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which Im certain.

Ive lived a life that's full.
Ive traveled each and ev'ry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way....

Smokey is attempting to cast enthrall.

(is the post still afk? )

Post seems to be ok now.

( I still need a steiner action, the attack of oppurtunity is a freebie, bigger and better post coming tonight)

Logos wrote:

I think my earlier power attack missed. I've made my attack op above.

(ah sorry I've been so feeble, two weeks until i'm done my first degree and i only got about 10,000 words and an exam between me and freedom...)

Steiner attacks cleaves deeply into the ogre, sending sprays of blood everywhere.

The crowd cheers as Bence nondescriptly heals arronoth.

Smokey's Song reveberates threw out the train car, the crowd seemingly cowed, but the ogre is unaffected.

The ogre, hurting from his latest wound, turns to smash upon steiner.

(two attacks, 30 for 19 damage, and 22 for 15)

(Next up, Arronoth from the prone but not threatened, stiener, bence, smokey...)

Cheetah

Arronath rolls to his feet and takes careful aim for one last shot...

Energy Ray(fire) 6PP, surge 2
DC2 Powersurge Diadem: (1d20=17) - No Powersurge (thank god)
DC2 Ennervate Check: (1d20=8) - No Ennervation

Ranged touch attack: (1d20+8=18)
Damage: (8d6+8=39)

The ogre collapses in a brutal gelatinous heap, and smokey's song is broken by the death of the head chef. A angry buzz is begining to spread amongst the crowd....

The blink dog looks up at you and says "we ought to be getting out of here..."

Logos wrote:

For Logos

Spoiler:
Though I suspect, our characters are already dead and that we are just souls, by my count, the 34 points of damage that Steiner just received just brought him to -14! Can you say "sausage filling?" Ha! Ha! Ha!

A look of surprise appears on the face of Steiner as he receives two savage blows from the Ogre. Surprisingly, he doesn't feel anything. Then he realizes that the blows might have severed his spine. He sees his legs buckle and the floor rushes to meet his face, which impact sounded like the fall of a comet.

Darkness moves to close on Steiner's consciousness. A small circle of light beckoning....

guys we need to take the ooc to ooc

Spoiler:
( You have the option, new character or heroic intervention, that level adjustment hurts, your having a hard time keeping up with wizards in the hp department, either way your choice, if you all want to start discussion of this sort of thing in the OOC thread, it may help releive clutter like this here. I would call that an appropiate challenge for you guys too btw cr7 but lacking the big guns in magic items you have, reposted to ooc)

The Blink Dog stops dead when he relies the extent of damage that happened to the brave young dragonborn warrior. A mourning howl cuts threw all the jaded and world weary aspects of everyone into that small part of the soul that feels fear of two things, predators and death....
