Among the cataclysmic events hinted at in the prologue to the Orc King is "the coming of the aboleth." I've searched but I can't find any further information on what this might be.
The thought of the "fin-scaled filth" kicking ass and taking their rightful place as rulers of the underdark has me excited. Just what exactly is going to happen with the mighty aboleth?

THE ABOLETH WILL BE AS COMMON AS HOUSE FLIES IN 4E, THE MOUTH OF HASBRO HAS THUS SPOKETH AGAIN BUY 4E OR SUFFER GAME BURN OUT!
I heard R.A. Salvatore will write a novel about an Aboleth Ranger making his way from Underdark to the Realms. He is hunted by his kind because he has a good alignment. His only friend a freed Scum who follows him. The Aboleth wields two deadly tentacles and fights his way out of underdark. In the Realms he will meet a Drow Ranger who also flew his race. Both become fast friends and talk enlessly over issues of morality and friendship while fighting against impossible odds.

My guess is the Aboleth is going to be the leading creature for the expansion of the Far Realm into the primary realm (can't remember what they are calling it now). They have always kinda of come off as the smart sargents of the forces from the strange alien realm. It will be interesting what additional twists they add to them.
