Recruiting one more player for a Forgotten Realms D&D campaign. Requirements are as follows:
- Knowledgeable of both the Forgotten Realms Campaign setting and the core D&D rules.
- Able to let the DM handle all the characters dice rolls. This is to keep the story narrative, not to control the game.
- Able to post at least once a day in normal circumstances.
- Able to write in a clear and coherent manner.
As for the campaign itself, expect a mid-fantasy level consistent with the Forgotten Realms world. Currently the characters are located in The Great Dale region, but will most likely travel to neighboring regions. Characters will start at first level and proceed from there. The current game is already started and can be read in the Play-by-Post section, but has only been going for a week or so.
If you are interested please leave a short introduction of your expectations for the game and a character concept.

Hi Stefan,
I'd like to play in your campaign if you'll have me. I'm returning to D&D after a longish break, so my knowledge of both the Forgotten Realms and the core rules are rusty. Rusty rather than non-existent.
Happy for you to handle the mechanics; probably best as my brand new PHB is en-route from Amazon. I'm hoping for a classic adventure tale with a good mix of story and action.
I'd like to play a human rogue, fresh from a small farming community near Uthmere. Let me know if you're interested in more details.
Finally, I know I'll probably be a little more work to DM for than some of the regulars here. If that's not what you're looking for, then no worries and no hard feelings. Let me know.

Yes - that and my PHB is still not here, so I'll need extra help with character creation / levelling etc until it arrives.
Nothing else...

Hi Stefan, a few more lines about the character concept:
Rolan will start as a trickster / tumbler thief, rather than a backstabbing machine or a pickpocket. He'll start naive, cheerful, with little idea of the true dangers and horrors of the Realms. As the campaign progresses he could progress in a number of ways, and I look forward to roleplaying through the options - he could end up as a thief/mage or a shadowdancer or a rogue/bard/harper. It all depends on the people he meets and dangers they face and overcome together.

Will,
Sounds good, and I like your writing. Go into the Play-by-Post forum discussion and look for "The Test of Golden Cinders Discussion" and find my e-mail. Send me an e-mail and we'll get started on character creation and work you into the story. The quicker the better.
Stefan
Welcome aboard Will! Its good to have you.
