I keep trying to work out the lay of old Thassilon in relation to modern Varisia, and I keep failing, and it's really beginning to bug me. :(
Going back to Pathfinder I and the Thassilon article, we can see that Bakrakhan was of course west of what's now the Varisian seacoast; the Korvosa area was part of Gastash, but not necessarily the whole; a good portion of the map was Shalast; and... that's it. You mention some cities that are either still inhabited or are near new population centers, such as Torandey and Xin-Edasseril/Melesa, but neither appears on the map as far as I can tell. (I freely admit to having a very low Spot check.)
My best guess is that nearly all of Varisia as it now stands was Shalast, and the other sub-kingdoms were partly or wholly off the existing map. The problem there is that Thassilonian monuments seem to be associated exclusively with Varisia, and you'd think people would have noticed them elsewhere.
Please, can you enlighten a poor befuddled Lurker? I'd love even a map done the same way as the continent one posted to the blog earlier, just a rough sketch with the Varisia color map in the appropriate spot... ;.;

Me too! Me too! My PCs are *all* Thassilonian experts, and I really need to know about this. If I make it up I'm afraid #6 will contradict me. (I already tripped over that once--I had the Sandpoint Light belong to the wrong nation. Oops. Luckily the PCs were able to put it down to an unreliable source.)

Pathfinder 5 has some nice clues, mostly in the Sin Magic Chapter:
Page 58, Magic of Envy, Palace Miasmoria makes me think of Viperwall, or Brinewall (but we have nothing to really establish that Brinewall pre-exists the Chelish settlement, however the last sentence clearly places the Realm of Envy clearly in the Land of Linnorm-Kings with (based on pure conjecture) the souther border extending in a line from Brinewall to Rimeskull (i.e. somewhere in Norther Varisia.)
Page 58, Magic of Gluttony, note the reference to "the Flesh Pits beneath Xin-Gastash" sounds quite similar to previous descriptions of Urglin.
