My schedule has finally cleared up and I’m ready to do some DMing! But, alas, I have no play group. What shall I do? Why, I think a play-by-post is the answer! The first one I tried fell flat due to scheduling problems, but those have been resolved now. I’m eager to start a new one and get some adventuring done!
But I still need some players! I’m looking for a party of six adventurers, but at least two (and perhaps three) spots have already been reserved (one by Sexi Golem). That leaves three (possibly four) spots to be filled! I’d love to get a chance to DM for some of my fellow Lords of the Boards (Fatespinner, Fakey, Heathy, Aubrey, just to name a few!), but anyone is welcome to join.
The campaign will be of my own design, and set in my homebrew, Saern. Characters should be created using 32 point buy. Rather than listing what options are and aren’t approved, just run ideas by me and I’ll either say yea or nea (probably yea). The only things I’ll ban upfront are psionics and overly setting-specific races (warforged, shifters, etc.). I’d love to see a list of diverse classes and races; my preferences run toward diversity within the classes (and races) of the PHB, but if you have an itch to play something from a supplement, just ask!
There may be some house rules here and there (i.e., half-orcs don't exist as a racial identity, but full orcs {using stats similar to those of the half-orc} are a viable option). But I’ll try to keep them to a minimum and inform players of such issues as they arise.
I'd love to jump in. I'm currently playing in another PbP campaign, but my schedule would allow me to play here as well. I usually prefer rangers or fighters, but I'm willing to branch out if the need arises. If there is still a spot open, I would be very interested!
Perhaps I could play in your campaign and you could play in mine as you can see I am organizing a reciprocity campaign set in FR.

Brand new pbp'er here. I am looking to get into a game or two and saw your post come up. Would you be willing to take a cherry on your adventure? Since I am very new to any kind of roleplaying one of the core classes is something I would shoot for. An Elven Wizard has a certain appeal to me right now. Another option I would like to do is a Dwarven Rogue. If you are looking for more experienced posters just let me know.

I'm definitely interested if you have room. After a long term lurking around here, EN World and the Wizards site, and a long, long, long time since I last played, I recently started playing in a RotRL PbP and I wouldn't mind getting involved in another.
As for a character, I'm open, but maybe something along the lines of an Elven Rogue/Sorcerer or an Elven Favored Soul?

I appreciate all these replies! It's still too early for me to decide who to fill the slots with yet; there are some long-time posters on the boards that I'd love to DM for, and I want to give them a shot to weigh in. I'm not sure they're checking Gamer Connection, so I'll repost this in PbP Discussion (seems to be a fair number of recruiting threads in there) and most likely be able to make my call by tomorrow.

Didn't see this, Saern, until just now. I would love to play if you'll have me. I usually keep characters simple without a bunch of multiclassing and PRCs. I usually stick pretty close to core also, straying into PHB2 occasionally.
If I was in I would probably play a Sorcerer of some sort. Or gutting the Bard class and making it more martial/less musical. Haven't done a caster in a while.

If there are any remaining spots I would like to play, just about any class sa I have 12 or 13 books, most of which have core classes.
