Quince motions Girther and the others away from Jurin, and speaks to them in a low voice.
"Do you think it wise to stay here? We don't know his father, and what would he think if he discovered a band of adventurers in his spare room? Kimi said Jurin's father was one of the wealthiest men in town - we don't want him as an enemy, I should think."

To Jurin: "Is it ok for Risk to stay too? I hope your father doesn't mind pets."
Risk makes an outraged growl, and Quince hurriedly corrects himself. "I meant friends."

"Of course, Risk can stay. And I'll have the servants bring up some food and ale to your room if you prefer." Opening the door to the house, Jurin leads the party to through the well-lighted interior of the house. The party moves through a spacious living room, its walls decorated by various preserved heads of animals. The party's footsteps echo as they walk over the wooden flooring of the house.
Knowledge (nature) DC 15:
Jurin leads the party up the stairs and to one of rooms. He opens door revealing a room with a large four poster bed, a chair, a desk and a full length mirror.
"I hope you're ok with this room."

Knowledge(Nature) (1d20+8=11)
Fjyndel is overwhelmed by the house of Jurin's family. He follows the others with an open mouth through the house, finding his tongue again as Quince thanks the boy: "This is one nice house your father has here. Not that I would like to live here, I am not often in towns and such, I prefer mother nature. But tonight I will make an exception.
And thanks again for letting us stay here.
I have one question though: where can I get some fresh water to wash myself?"
| Girther StoneStriker |
Girther takes a moment to pull Drint aside and says to him in a low voice, “What do you thinks about this situation? Do you think we are in any danger? Also, I know I have no right to ask this, so please forgive me for being crude. For some reason I feel I can trust you, do you think you can ‘take a look around’ this place tonight after everyone turns in? I would do it myself but I tend to stand out like a lump of coal on the dinning room table.”

"Alright", Drint whispers back, "I will."

Girther makes a modest plate and drinks a single glass of wine and a single glass of ale. While preparing his plate he uses whispered conversation to inform Quince and Fjyndel of the little plan that Drint and he worked up. He listens carefully to any words of wisdom his newfound friends have to offer.

As Drint leaves on the scouting mission Girther readies his equipment and sits poised on the side of the bed. At the least sound of struggle he will throw caution to the wind and rush to the aid of his scaly ally.

For Drint
You emerge from the room into a darkened hallway, which is no obstacle at all to your superior eyesight. You follow your nose and easily find the kitchen. The searching through the cupboards does not turn up anything unusual, other than this household appears to be well-stocked with food and drink.
Next, you look for the room Jurin’s parents. Not knowing where it is you try every room in the house. With silent feet, quick reflexes and steely nerves you find the servants’ rooms and two latrines without arousing any notice. Then you find a locked door with iron bars reinforcing its wooden frame.

Passing the village gates, the caravan procession stops in front of an inn called the “Sitting Duck.” By the sound coming from the inn, you judge that it is a very rowdy place.
"I'm also going to need a room too, preferably one with a hot bath." She gives herself a look over and then continues, "I've been on the road for a while now and need some freshening up."

The dream of the gnome continues to evolve only mildly disturbed by the sound of thunder rolling over the sylvan forests, where Fjyndel dreams to wander. It is iritating, but not nearly enough to wake the gnome, but too much to not have an influence on the dream.

Quince wakes up with a start a moment before Girther gets to him and leaps out of bed, spear in hand. Seeing that his companions are up and about, he motions to the door.
"I'm going to try and surprise them by quickly opening the door," he whispers.
After a quick glance to see if everyone is ready, Quince listens carefully. As soon as the footsteps get right outside the door, Quince uses open/close (spell-like ability from Spell Hand feat) to yank the door open unexpectedly.

The room you are in is about twenty by twenty feet with most of it occupied by the bed. There is a small table near the bed and a chair. There is a mirror hanging on the wall opposite the bed. The wooden floor is waxed to a deep brown. A continual flame torch hangs in the middle of the ceiling, illuminating everything. That amounts to four 5ft squares.
