Yep, their prices are higher.
Nope, they don't need to lower them.
See, Ebay can be a scary place. A lot of folks have gotten ripped off going through Ebay, and won't try shopping there again.
Paizo isn't run out of somebody's garage (and even if it was, I'm sure Vic and Lisa's garage is really nice, considering their Star Destroyer Bridge Movie Room!).
Where was I? Right!
Not a garage, but instead a reputable business. There is a degree of security when buying from Paizo that isn't there on Ebay. That security is manifest in the higher prices.
Besides, supply and demand works. If no one is buying, prices will come down. Because prices haven't come down, I'm sure people are buying.

When comparing your Prices to the going e-bay rate, your prices are almost four times the cost!(Demogorgon is going for $17.95 buy it now e-bay-Paizo is $70.00 why is this?
Demogorgan is a bad example for a few reasons:
While #3 that I sighted above is true for ebay as well, when you add it to 1&2 it can get a little dicy on the price. plus I've seen Demos go on ebay auctions for $40+ regularly in the past year or so.

They may be selling the miniatures for higher prices because they had to buy them at higher prices. While no one likes price gouging, businesses that don't make a profit on transactions don't thrive. IIRC, a lot of the older mini's come unbagged, which may mean they had to purchase them from some one else. Add reasonable profit and you may be getting the $$ you mentioned.
Supply and demand, etc...

Hey Tobus:
When you are setting prices for anything collectible, there is no standard price or MSRP. The price is set by supply and demand. As somebody said earlier in the thread, if nobody wants to buy a mini at the price that it is currently at, then I lower the price until it starts to sell. If it is blowing out the door at a current price, then the price goes up a bit. Our prices have fluctuated dramatically over the course of our existence. If you had bought the Dragoneye Drizz't back in 2004, you could have had him for $20. Now, he goes for over $100 and we can't keep him in stock!
I don't set my prices based on what other folks are selling minis for. I set them based upon the supply and demand here on paizo.com. And believe me, our prices must be good for some folks, since I have a hard time keeping them in stock!
There is an adage in retail sales that you can pick two of the following things to be competitive with: selection, customer service, and price. We picked the first two. There are places everywhere on the web where you can get pretty much anything we sell for cheaper than we are selling it at! But can you get the selection that we have here? And will you get the great customer service that we are known for?
If price is really important to you, then paizo.com isn't where you want to shop. But if selection and great customer service are more important, this is your home.
