Hasbro killed D&D and took its stuff.

4th Edition

Scarab Sages

I have no larger point. The title just strikes me as apropos. Ignore at your leisure.

Liberty's Edge

Stop that. I'm trying to ignore the 4e. threads entirely.
Then you come along with THAT. Fly....poo poo...

I've gotta admit, Hasbro has produced a lot of entertainment for me during my lifetime. (Monopoly, GI Joe, Play Doh, Star Wars figures, Mr. Potatohead....)

Also, I believe D&D is mine, as I do with the other games I play. They can't take it away from me.

Of course, I respectfully concede that the thread title is funny.

Liberty's Edge

No! It's mine! You don't understand the spirit of D&D like I do. You're just a skull in front of a red background.
What the hell even are you?

I am a smiling skull, and I am laughing at you, wolfman.

Liberty's Edge

Ha Ha! Laugh it up!!! You're the singing bass, kung fu twirling squirrel toy of 2008!

At least wait until the books come out to start declaring D&D "dead" and its stuff looted. You don't want to loose all of your vitriol now and have all of your clever quips used up by summer.

I keep my loose change in a skull (had to plug up the eye sockets with marshmallows). It may seem like gruesomely irreverent thing to do to final remains but the guy used to be an accountant and a scout leader, so I figured he'd kinda dig it. Plus he messed up my taxes, so screw him.

"Want s'more quarters, Bruce? Yeah... sure you do."

Liberty's Edge

Marsalis Wallace wants his phylactery back.
"Does Marsalis Wallace look...like...a....lich to you?"

However, they DID take the sky from you, therefore they win in the long run.

Liberty's Edge

Hey hey, my my,
D&D will never die.
It's better to burn out than be forgotten
The king is gone but he's not forgotten.
Johnny Rotten.....Johnny Rotten...

Let's not forget Hasbro took Runequest out back and shot it in the face.
Luckily, some folks stole the corpse for resurrection while they were mesmerized by Magic and D&D. So take some comfort while Hasbro eyes up D&D's purdy mouf- it's not going to be the end.

Gee, thanks SO much for locking that image in my head. Now, I've got to go find some acid to (hopefully) scour the image away....

Would that, by chance, be your uncle, ol' anonymous 15?

I think thats what makes the title of the thread so fun: In the WoTC vernacular, "Killing X and taking it's stuff" is presented as a positive while superficially its a negative. The "Dead" one is just being assimilated into the Borg. The Borg is Good. Therefore being assimilated is good. So for the 4E lovers, its a good line, for the 4E haters its one of dread. I love crap like that.

Off Topic...no wait, there is no topic. Isn't it interesting that assimilated is spelled ASS-imilated...or is it ASS-Imolated? But I digress. TMI.

Did Steve Buscemi play Runequest?

He's always getting capped up. I saw him die 5 times in the same day on cable once.
