From reading the tantalizing bits about specific volumes of the journal (ex: volume 2 Durven Gest catalogues 31 siege castles outside Absalom) in the first issue of this adventure path, I was kind of hoping that the content of the articles would be from these volumes.
Any chance of this happening?
Nope. The first Pathfinder Journal had two goals:
1: Establish the Pathfinders as an organizaiton.2: Unload a LOT of Golarion-specific flavor.
Over time, a lot of that flavor first mentioned in that journal will end up being expanded upon by Paizo products.
Going forward, though, the Pathfinder's Journal becomes a proper journal (hence the title of the section), which is the in-character writings of Eando Kline, a young pathfinder hoping to chronicle some big-time adventure so he'll get famous. It's basically six pages of in-game fiction with some crunchy sidebars; the inspiration for this section being the classic "Voyage of the Princess Ark" articles that ran for years in Dragon magazine.

Thanks for the clarification. It'd be kind-of neat to see these volumes fleshed out for pathfinder-member adventurers to discover and read. I suppose they'll have to remain like the necronomicon; source of quotes but almost impossible to obtain.
Exactly. More to the point, if we WERE to write up the dozens of volumes, that'd be building a huge mass of continuity traps for us! :)
Much better to leave the Pathfinder Chronicles nebulous so that we can quote from them as needed.

Or you could always write your own version of this journal and post it here. I'm doing a pathfinder journal as my NaNoWriMo... not sure how it will turn out as it's only 4 days in... but if its good I'll post here

I'd like to extend my praise for the great story by Jason Bulmahn in the Pathfinder's Journal of Pathfinder 2.
I thought the story of Eando Kline, Redmare, and the Boggards was very well written and interesting.
(I wonder, will I ever find out what's in the box with the engraved outlines of human skulls, or is it lost to the Mushfens?)

The box will indeed make a reappearance... very soon.

I'm really enjoying these articles also. My question is, when "Rise of the Runelords" is complete and we start "Curse of the Crimson Throne," are we going to get a new "thread" of journals from a different member of the pathfinders or is Eando Kline here to stay?

Eando Kline will remain the protagonist of the journal for some time to come, but I don't doubt that he'll eventually be passing the torch to another Pathfinder. For now, we've got his story arc planned all the way through to Pathfinder 12, though.

I second the notion to maybe yearly change from pathfinder member to pathfinder member. I'd like to see them as adventurers themselves, meaning once in a while one dies or hangs up his sword;
That would make for an interesting Journal entry.

This morning the orc chieftian cut my head off. It has made writing difficult and this will be my last entry in this journal.

Should the player know in any way about Eando's Adventures? If it is could you sugest a way to introduce them?
I'm simply letting my players read the material. Printed it off of the PDF and gave it too them. I figure the more out of game exposure to the world we'll be in soon, the better.

Even if my players never go there, I've savored the details of other parts of Golarion. I can add in these brief snippets as I need them and make the players feel immersed in a vast, exciting place full of adventure and danger.
I particularly loved how the recent entry detailed Kaer Maga enough for me to use as a city I can take my players through should they visit. It felt very much like the main city from the movie "Blood of Heroes." Very tasty.

Durvin Gest in particular will appear again. You can count on it.
Tom casts Resurrection.
Erik, you mentioned having a short story in your head that is based on Durvin Gest's last days. Is this project any closer to seeing print? What exactly is known of Durvin's disappearance? Did he just vanish from his apartment in Absalom one day? Or did he actually embark on a Pathfinder-sponsored expedition and meet his end in some exotic land?
I'm asking because I was thinking of making a long-dead NPC in my upcoming Serpent's Skull campaign part of Gest's final ill-fated expedition, and then make the NPC the great-grandfather of a dwarf PC.
For my campaign, Gest's expedition would have been to the Mwangi Expanse (so i could tie it to the Serpent's Skull plotline eventually). So, I was hoping to find out so I could decide if I need to just choose another Pathfinder instead of Gest.

From his Wiki Page
"Known for disappearing into unexplored lands for years at at time, Duvin Gest vanished for the last time in 4360 AR. While all known copies of volume 5 of the Pathfinder Chronicles were recalled and destroyed by the Decemvirate shortly after its release, modern scholars believe the document to have contained information which shed illumination on the famous pathfinder's disappearance.[4][3]" Seeker of Secrets p27 and p41
Keep in mind that if you keep to canon this is more or less the year 4710AR so you have 400 years or so to play with, where true histories may be muddied by bard's exaggerations
