Nick,
As soon as I read that Sharn was in a blizzard, I was wondering how that is possible since Sharn is described as being very muggy and usually heavy rains with occasional slightly less heavy rains. Is the plane associated with ice/cold (name eludes me atm) concurrent? I love the idea of the weather stacking on top of other issues, but was just wondering if there was a mechanical explanation that might have been cut.

Risia is the ice plane, IIRC. For snow it doesn't have to be super-cold, just cold enough higher up for ice to form. You'll probably get wet, sloppy slushy snow, but snow nonetheless in Sharn.
...and it will tend to stick (not melt) once fallen because of the ash mixed in :) Was having a bit of a brain-fart on the higher altitude temp being more important than ground level for snow. Either way thinking of describing it as like Dante's peak or that volcano under LA movie with Tommy Lee Jones.

There was a good discussion about this over on Enworld too. I'll linkie here:

In which my favorite supposition was a Risia nearly coterminus planar event...maybe even one caused by some other neer'do'well whose evil compunctions become known after Hell's Heart concludes in your campaign. The other way to go is a freak storm of some kind - but then again the best way to explain that is Risia-related prolly.
A few people cut the blizzard and just went for raining ash from the fires in the cogs...but things are always more terrifying in the cold and dark. 30 Days of Night will attest.
Hope this helps! Sorry about the confusion!

Was mainly curious. Although it's got me thinking of a parallel adventure with someone employing an eldritch machine to bring about a risia concurrence for some other reason. Maybe a rival group to the one that was causing that fire plane coterminus event from the last of 3 module eberron arc from a few years ago. hmmmm....

Yeah a little War of Ice and Fire (Song is copyrighted!!!) sounds like a genius way to go with this Tessius! Post up more of what you're planning if you have time, I'm sure others would love to hear it too.
Eldritch Machine! Good call...I always forget about those things...if Viktor had been a spellcaster I totally would have gone the Eldritch Machine Doomsday Device for Hell's Heart.

That's cruel of Sci-Fi...I've reread those things five times now in anticipation of the Fifth's release...I was really hoping for the holidays, but I think my hopes may be dashed.

I just picked them up earlier this year and read them all within a couple weeks. Finally looked at the site and Martin said he was not going to post any more dates for a release until he turned it in to his editor. That was June I think. Thought I read somewhere that some network was working on the rights to do them for television but I can't imagine doing any of them as shorter than a miniseries for each book.

Supposedly, HBO is going to do Game of Thrones as a T.V. Series...that would be intense, as HBO delivers the goods when it comes to awesome T.V.
If you need something to tide you over Tessius, read The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch...great great book, and it inspired a lot of fun in the upcoming Edge of Anarchy.

Have to swing by B&N to look for that, not been there as much the last couple months since a certain something (or 2) isn't on the shelf anymore. Also I've either missed out on or forgotten seeing anything about Edge of Anarchy. When/where is that going to be available?

Edge kicks off the second Pathfinder AP - Curse of the Crimson Throne. They let me write it...those poor poor fools... ;-)
The Lies of Locke Lamora is pretty awesome. I just started reading the sequel right now, and it's amazing how many ideas I stole from it without even having read it yet. It's a great read too. I highly recommend these.

Ah. I read the plot thumbnails for the first few issues of CotCT but forgot the titles.
