Waterdeep as the Free City: Map?

Age of Worms Adventure Path

Sovereign Court

My players are finishing up Blackwall Keep and will therefore soon be heading to the Free City. As my campaign is set in FR, Waterdeep will be the Free City.

I picked up the Waterdeep sourcebook a couple of years back with this in mind. While the book has a series of very nice partial maps of the city, there is no overall city map. You know, something poster-sized that pulls all those partial maps together.

Yet I seem to recall that there was one, somewhere. Am I misremembering? Was it included in one of the mags?

Can anyone help me out?

Volo's Guide to Waterdeep has a small fold out of the city. Also, the City of Splendor boxed set has a ton of maps. Both are great resources.

Thanks for the info. The boxed set is an old 2nd ed. set, isn't it?

I was hoping that there was somewhere a copy of the complete city map of the city of Waterdeep, as outlined in the sourcebook, rather than having to cut and paste together the pieces of the map which are in the Waterdeep Sourcebook.

Does anyone know anything about that?

You can also look for the old City System boxed set. Orange, made around the end of 1st ed. IIRC. You want maps? Try ten full sized posters that merge to form Devast-er, um, Waterdeep. They don't line up quite right, though (at least, mine don't). Made nice wallpaper for my room in high school, though, and plotting adventures became known as "staring at the wall" in one campaign I ran back then. Anyway . . . .

For just single maps, I believe that the Volo's Guide to Waterdeep has one. City of Splendors might as well. Hmm, maybe even Undermountain (don't think so, though). I can't speak for the Waterdeep trail map product, it's the only thing Waterdhavian I lack (that I know of), short of a set of Lord's Regalia.

Liberty's Edge

Look at the WotC map archives. Wizards may have put .jpegs of those out as freebies. No guarantees though.

Here are some from the WotC gallery- the resolution isn't all that great, but you may not need that much detail: City of Splendors maps.

And another from the web: Waterdeep 2 (you'll need to expand it in your browser).

Hey David, where are you located?

I actually might have my old Waterdeep maps from the City of Splendors Boxed set from back in the day around still. I'll have to look, but maybe if I still have them I can find some way to get them to you.

If they are still around, they would be the actual copies that you just saw from that WotC website, but poster maps. Let me check.
FYI, I don't run FR anymore, so it wouldn't hurt me to get rid of the maps, I'm just not sure how to get them to you. Funds might be an issue.

Well...whaddaya know. I've still got them and in perfect condition except for a few light pencil jotted numbers on certain locales to use with Location Keys I no longer have, easy to erase off or use for your own location keys.

I don't have the sourcebooks anymore though. So there is a slew of printed location numbers on the maps, but no keys.

The map is, btw, x2 4-page poster creating an 8-page poster when assembled. I am (seemingly lonely by this board) out on the West Coast. Sacramento CA to be precise. Drop a line and we'll see if there is some way to get these to you.

Oh yeah..I also have a whole bunch of other 2nd edition FR maps I might be willing to off-load as well.

Undermountain
Myth Drannor
Menzoberranzan
Undermountain II , I think

Maybe a trade could be possible. Would you consider, since you've run it already, trading Dungeon 126 and the Blackwall Keep map for all my FR maps?

I'll try and get together a list of everything I have.
