Great blog post on Ezren's back story, James! I like that he's middle-aged. I have played a few middle-aged characters in the past specifically to evoke the same tone of character that you had written up. I also think that this helps appeal to a more diverse and full world of adventure, not to mention the realities of a number of your fans. Well done!

I think he's more around 50-55, or even older, if that conforts you ;)

I read Ezren's back story to two of my players last night after our game got cancelled due to missing players. (One player fighting fires in California, the other switched schedules at work.) One of them stated "I'd be willing to play that character."
So kudos to you James for coming up with such a kick-a$$ character! This player will spend weeks coming up with a back story (then type it up in many many pages) for a character, so to make him want to play a pre-gen is fairly impressive.
To be honest, I kind of want to play him too. Probably won't get to though... but I'm going to steal the concept for my next one :D

Ezren background info is full of fluffy goodness, I like it. Hopefully our original four iconics get as ironed out before RotRL is over.
Seoni, Kyra, and Merisiel did on the blog, already. Valeros got his in the form of the preview of the pre-gen for Pathfinder 3. In any event, all 4 do get half-page presentations in Pathfinder 3 onward.
And Ezren is about 54, I'm pretty sure. As in, according to D&D, he just officially turned "OLD" and has a -3 penalty on his physical stats and a +2 bonus on his mental stats.

Though I suppose you both do have the same Avatar...I'm sensing some evil doppleganger action, just like with me and Mr. Frost.

It wasn't a typo, though. It's his age, about 12 years ago; 42 was his age when he left Absalom. As seen in his picture, he's about 53 or thereabouts... a little more than a decade after he left Absalom.

I think actually that the mistake is the use of the present tense in the rest of that sentence. If it was actually "At the age of 42, Ezren was full aware that he had missed his adulthood, yet at the same time he looked forward to discovering the world, and making a difference for a cause that he believed in," then the beginning sentence of the next paragraph, "Over the next decade," puts him just at the right age.
So, just taking a stab here, James, Str 9, Dex 11, Con 10, Int 17, Wis 12, Cha 10?

I could be glib, but I tried picking the avatar that I enjoyed *and* had the least amount of use without perusing the messageboards first. I'm just glad everyone here seem to appreciate Lilith's posts. It would have been annoying if used by an avatar everyone loathed should they make a mix-up and mistake me for a bad egg.

I think by the end of Rising Sun, Wesley Snipes was torn between his passion for the chick and the hots for Sean Connery.
As for the low Charisma, it makes sense with his background. If he *had* a high Charisma (a la Elminster or Sean Connery), it wouldn't make sense otherwise why teachers would refuse to instruct a sex muffin in the ways of arcane . . . uh, er, . . . magic.

Now I'm even more excited about seeing who all is coming next... Presumably the other three of Ezren's party will be showing up in January as well...
That would be the hope, I think there is still some friendly better going on down in the 'Curse of the Crimson Throne' forum about what the party makeup will be. Obviously, one Wizard.

Tell him to stay safe and that he rocks. About 9 years ago, most of Florida was on fire during the course of the summer. A lot worse in damages and casualties would have been sustained if not for the hard work of all the firefighters (both local and from across the country), many of which were volunteers. Since then, I've had a lot of respect for firefighters.
