I didn't like that rendition of Hemlock either. The shadowy artwork didn't sit well with me. I wanted more detail in the picture. I liked the overall artwork though. It was creepy. Is it me or does Ironbriar look more like a monster than an elf? His fingers look like claws. I thought he was demon touched. It is a cool picture though.

So am I, I prefered Arnold Tsang's drawnings over those that are made by the artist that did the full image drawnings in nr 2. I only really hated the art of the sandpoint article artist. The goblins in nr 1, like chieftain ripnugget weren't that good either imo but the style of this one isn't too much to my liking either.
I'm hoping for more Arnold Tsang, Andrew Hou and the return of Eva Wiedermann in an Adventure Path!
But taste differs, and I'm still looking forward to nr 3 and the art that one will bring.

Eva is doing the art for the article on Lamashtu scheduled for Pathfinder #5.
In any event, keep up the comments, everyone! We're still in the process of finding our feet for Pathfinder, and with each volume we're getting closer and closer to the book's intended look (which is made a little more complicated by the fact that artists are busy people, and they're not always available).

I like the NPC portraits in this one better.
While I didn't hate the pictures of Tsuto and the others in #1, it just doesn't look good when you have one of those beautiful half page "action shots" on the left page and then what looks like hand drawn and hand colored monster (or npc) portrait/bodyshot on the right page.
The contrasting styles just don't look appealing side by side IMHO.
