Is there a monk/rogue prestige class similar to the arcane trickster in any of the various WotC splatbooks?

Fishwife.

Ok, let me re-phrase. A prestige class that's not stupidly broken.

Scarab Sages

There are very few good prestige classes for the monk at all and there are also very few prestige classes like the arcane trickster that don't have a spellcasting class.

I would suggest creating one.

Or better yet, create a feat like those found in the complete scoundrel.

Off topic (and probably not helpful)

I agree with Moff that there are few good PrCs for the Monk.

I have always been a fan of CW's Tattooed Monk though.

Cmon....monkey grip....flurry of blows with a 90 pound sturgeon....

It's the staggered 'ripening' bonuses for the sturgeon that really break the PrC. DC 15 Fort to prevent nausea with every strike at 3rd level, rising up to DC 30 by 9th level?! And I really don't think it makes sense to give them the water domain when most Fishwife recipients won't even be clerics.

Don't even get me started on those special requirements. I've had to houserule a limit of no more than two Fishwife PCs in any given party. Everyone else will have to settle for Ostrich Wrangler or Sewage Ninja.

Master of the South Wind, Dragon #314.

Ninja of the Crescent Moon, from Sword and Fist.

I had a party almost entirely full of Sewage Ninjas one time. The only person who wasn't was a purist who played a Paladin because he wanted something out of the regular PHB, and he ended up getting totally overshadowed because of that 1/day Sewage Ninja ability (I forget what it's called, this was a while ago and I don't own the book) that lets them ignore all missed attacks for Cha+3 rounds(?). "Cut the Sh*t," I think.

Talk about broken. Every one of them dual-wielded plungers (of course)...

Thief-Acrobat from Complete Adventurer (IIRC) is damned tempting, for a 5LV PrC. Its almost tailor made for monks, but, without a house rule, you couldn't go back to monk.

If you played in the Forgotten Realms setting you could go back, provided that you were a member of the Sun Soul Monks or similar organization listed in the FRCS book.

If you're willing to multiclass cleric (which I presume YOU'RE NOT)

there are good prestige classes for either roguish types of monkish/cleric types out of Complete Divine

Consider the Black Flame Zealot- not too harsh requirements considering Rogue skills, I WOULD consider creating your OWN prestige class, or disregard the monk aspect.

BUT, the monk prestige class I'm most interested in (partly because I don't need much in Monk, or hell could just go Cleric/other theoretically)
is Sacred Fist, but I'll make a post about that later.

You could just go rogue/monk (or monk/rogue) with Ascetic Rogue from Complete Adventurer. If you want to take thief-acrobat, it's best that you also qualify for a monk PrC such as drunken master or tattooed monk from Complete Warrior.

The Exchange

Ostrich Wrangler, Sewage Ninja, Fishwife. WTF! Are these really classes?!? I would be embarrassed to play the game as a "sewage ninja"! May as well just make a "chicken choker" class and play that.
"Yes, that is my PC. He's a Monk/6 Monkeyspanker/5 (which gives him monkey grip) Chicken Choker/5 (which meshes nicely with the Monkeyspanker special abilities). I am thinking of going into the 'Sticky Hand' Prc for next level to gain the 'throw goo' special ability and afterwards into 'Blind Spider' to gain the abilty to 'sling webs'."
Sewage ninja, yuck!

Threadjack over!

Though not official WotC material this is a decent class. The Elemental Infiltrator.

Its from Giants In the Playground Games. The people who bring you Order of the Stick.

The one saving grace is that their special attack is limited by constitution score and hydration status. However, uses per day can be increased by taking the hairy palms flaw in Unearthed Arcana.

I find "similar to arcane trickster" and "not stupidly broken" to be contradictory statements.

But that's just me.

Obviously, given that it's not true.

I'm sure some people find the world to be flat. I guess that's just them too.

Book of Erotic Fantasy. I'm surprised no one else in the thread uses it: I can't seem to start a campaign without it.

Spoiler:
There needs to be a sarcasm font.
