Do You Remember Your First?

Moff and I were talking about our first posts because we were trying to figure out how long we've had accounts and had been posting here. I know we've seen a good amount of new traffic in the past six months, so I'm willing to bet that those of you that have recently come to these boards probably recall your first post. Now how many of you old farts can remember?

This is my first thread. I can't recall my first post. They very well might have been one in the same. I totally thought I'd been here longer.

Extra credit question: (perhaps the Floating Eye can answer this) How long have these boards been up and running? I remember someone posting a link to the first post here ages ago, but I can't remember any of the details.

Oh man... it was awhile ago. I think late 2005. I'll have to do some research to see if I can find it, but no, there's no way I can recall it off the top of my head.

Mine? Late 2005 or early 2006. In other words: around the time that the Tyralandi Scrimm journal had gotten to TFoE. (That was the reason I joined--to read Jacobs' campaign journal.) I think my first thread was 'The Random Sh**e Thread.'

My first order is 06/26/06, so I guess I may have come around later than I thought.

(There were of course other posts made while we were testing the new code, but that's the first post by a non-Paizo employee.)

2004 or so is my guess, though I didn't become a regular poster until more like fall 2005.

Edit: But then again, traffic was still pretty slow back then. I remember when I first started posting, it wasn't unusual to have the threads in the top 5 active list be 1-2 hours old. Getting a response within an hour was normally pretty fast.

I am not certain that the order history can be counted upon as a guage. My first order was march 05 but I am pretty certain that was a re-up on my subscriptions.

I honestly don't (account says Jan o' 2004, don't think the boards were up then), but I'm willing to bet it was either:

A) A flame.
B) Response to a flame.
C) Some pathetic attempt at humor.

Come to think of it, I may have been inquiring as to why Paizo seemed completely unable to locate my home. I still have an e-mail in my own archive from Lisa in which she was incredibly polite and sent me some goodies by way of apology (Legions of Hell 1, I think it was; which was so creepy it definitely shut me up, rofl….).

Musta' been almost 2 years ago by now...Winter of '06 as near as I recollect. Not sure, but I think my first thread was on the subject of describing hit points...I got Ultradan real agitated...ah, the good ol' days of yesteryear ;)

I believe 2005 witht the shackled city adventure path. I think I was looking for advice. Prior to that I never checked messge boards for anything. Now I'm hooked.

I think my first, or one of the first three posts, was commenting on adventure Mad God's Key and how our group had dealt with harbor scene (couple of bad save rolls from half-orc...first falling for a Command spell, then getting entangled to a fishing net, so he was sitting duck to our party).

Time was somewhere around beginning of Age of Worms, Whispering Cairn had come out but probably nothing else yet. For a while I hung out mostly on Dungeon boards before spreading out to other ones (and it took me a while to even notice there was off-topic board :) )

Lol; not even; that was like; hmm 2579 posts ago :) and it wasnt that special; but, I remember how I felt about my first post: a bit timid and knee wobbly wondering if I was gonna get flamed or if the site was cliquish and I would get snubbed; but whew, its all good.

lol Vatnisse; hehe I remember that post well and always felt eyes burning on my neck :) lurked a week or so and did a lot of reading before I posted my first also, mine was probably about how to handle gaming situations or about adding plots or subplots to the game as that is really my hot topics. Lol your a lurker with 32k posts; hehe good job :)
