Finders Keepers

I just re-read the Ecology of the Keeper from Dragon magazine (thanks Todd Stewart). I find these guys pretty cool, and would like to use them in a game, but I thought I'd mine the boards for ideas.

Has anyone used keepers in a game? How did you use them? What were their motivations? Were they after your PCs for uncovering some cosmic secret? If so, what sort of secret? OR maybe the PCs were investigating the Keepers - anyone gone that angle?

I'd appreciate any ideas!

What sourcebook do they come from?

They're from the Fiend Folio ... I don't think I've seen them pop up in any published adventures, just wondering how (and if) people have used them.
