Has anyone used the Demodragon (from the Critical Threat section of Dungeon 147) in the final adventure yet? If so is there a good time/place to throw him in?
I just figured a CR 21, 2 headed Demogorgon inspired dragon would make a great encounter in the final adventure

Actually I would hold off and wait on that two-headed dragon, cause Demogorgon and Malcanthet have a little bastard child named Arendangrost that's a gargantuan three-headed demonic dragon with a mass of tentacles and hair and 3 breath weapons and the worst temper In the Multiverse!!! He's so nasty Demogorgon locks him up way downstairs beneath Ungorth Reddick! So I hope you get that Issue soon.

I'm planning on fitting in Demodragon somewhere as a side quest in "Enemies of My Enemy", going under the presumption that my PCs just don't want to play ball with all the Abyssal demon lords. Eladrins will no doubt be fair game, and as such, the battle with the linnorm will be similar to Demodragon, yes. Still, Demodragon makes for a nice--albeit similar--option. Say, some aged, balding gnome wizard with a red robe decides he needs a group of heroes to stop the rampaging Demodragon from destroying a castle. Oh wait...
On a similar note, check out one of the critical threats in #150, namely the one for the Fiend-Sage. I'm planning on using him for a (less useful, more approachable) substitute if my PCs tick off Iggwilv to no end. Perhaps he makes the request to hunt down Demodragon...

Heh. In all seriousness, a good substitution if there ever was one. Same CR, relatively same abilities, both are dragons, even same issue. I might go with that.
But, if I know my players, they will get belligerent the moment Iggwilv insists they later repay her for her aid, comely as she is. Thus, my Fiend-Sage (Dungeon 150)/Demodragon alternate side-quest might be in order.
Besides, I've got an itch to recreate the scenario in the D&D cartoon a little more accurately, and it would afford the players being able to take advantage of Demogorgon's weakness, as well.
But don't let me knock it! This sounds like a perfect spot for him if there ever was one. Also, check out Redfang, the elite dread linnorm on p. 64 of Dungeon #149 for another potential swap-spot.

That's what I did with him. I had a bit of fun with it though. One of the PC's banished it. (It was created by Venger on the Prime, so I had the prime as it's home plane.) So when they return, they will have Demodragon waiting for them for their next game.
