Rise of the Runelords

Dark Archive

So, here I am looking at the calendar, august 14th coming closer and this is the first time my group will come together. Mostly creating characters but I was thinking. How will I bind them together.

So my idea was doing a flashback, since I probably won't have RoR part 1 by next tuesday. I was going to have them play kids, that will spend the night at a haunted mansion or something, finding there some skeletons (quite literally) in the closet.

Now this one is rather for the paizo staff to answer, is Chopper's isle the haunted mansion from adventure 2? If so, are there any other mansion that would be suited for a haunted mansion?

Lastly, for my fellow board visitors, how are you all planning on grouping them together?

Normally I wait until the players have their characters rolled up before working on any backgrounds, a lot of times they will create their own links to each other.

Grand Lodge

The light house on the island of the murderer chopper is not the mansion from the second book. That is actually located outside the town of Sandpointe.

There is a mansion in sandpoint, that I believe is abandoned. More info will be found in the first book, so not much help there.

My group is playing people (and a few outsiders) from the town Sandpointe. Who will be drawn together during the goblin raid during the Autumn festivle of the unveiling of the new church.

There is indeed a notorious haunted mansion in the region: It's a significant part of Pathfinder 2's adventure, "The Skinsaw Murders." It's REALLY haunted, though. Kids who spend the night in there Will Be Killed by what dwells in the house. Seriously. It's bad news.

Camping out on Chopper's Isle is a much better choice as a preview. There's a mostly collapsed and overgrown shack there for kids to dare each other to sleep in, even if it doesn't show up on the map itself (the shack's under the tree cover on the southwest half of the isle).

Sovereign Court

God. The way you said Will Be Killed realllly creeped me out. I don't know why.

I am bringing an existing group to the Pathfinder Chronicles. They are currently in the lands of the High King Lordic, a custom world that I have developed.

Due to their recent actions in service to the Court, they have been selected to serve as a sort of "House Guard" in service to the Crown.

Their first task is to represent the Court during the Autumn Festival in Sandpointe. This will entail them attempting to shine a good light on the Kingdome of Lordic and will place them firmly in the middle of all the events of RotRL.

I am currently running a transition adventure with the party underway on a sailing vessel enroute to Sandpointe. They will be attacked by a wily Seawolf and find their ship's captain holding a Sea Hag secretly locked away onboard. (I hope none of them are reading this.)
