Summer Catalog Feedback

Customer Service

The Exchange

Since the catalogs you send out with your products are not listed on the site, I can't give you feedback there about them. Anyway, they're well laid out and always fun to look at. Whoever does your graphic design is money.
I do actually have some questions.
1) What is the font used in the interior of the catalog in the product descriptions. e.g. for W1 it is used in the following passage: "Fallow and abandoned for years, Bloodsworn Vale..."
2) What is the font used for the text "Pathfinder" on the front of the catalog?
3) Are those fonts available for purchase/download somewhere?

Thanks much!

Glad you dig it!
1. A nice font family called "ScalaSans". A staple font here at Paizo.
2. Not sure what that font is but will look through the font vault as soon as I can. It was turned to paths so I can't tell.
3. They are available, but not cheap. Google ScalaSans and look around, some place may have it cheaper than fonts.com at over $300.

Thanks!

Ok,
2. The Pathfinder logo was done in "Saber".

Saber has a really good 'O' and 'Q'.
Also, thanks a lot for the quick response. Don't think I can swing 300 bucks for a font just to play with it, but Saber is not that bad...

Well, I am sure if you looked out there in the vast reaches of the internet, you can find a copy.. cheaper.

Think there's any chance Paizo would ever use "ligature-enabled" fonts for main articles? So very pleasing to the eye.

I found Saber for $40.00 - it appears to be the same font.

People buy fonts? I'll be darned.

The Exchange

Yes, it's crazy!
Some people even make money *designing* fonts. Oft-seen, rarely thought about. :)

I am, btw, not a person who gets paid to design fonts. My interest in typography is wholly academic.

That's pretty neat, really. Sometimes it just amazes you all the little intricate background things that have to fall into place to make things work the way they do.
