Drakthar replacement?

I accidentally let it drop to one of my players that there's a vampire coming up soon, so I was thinking about replacing him with an alternate baddie.

Or even more alternatively, I could replace the whole chapter with something from Dungeon or somewhere else. Any ideas? Anyone else do something like this?

I know when I ran the game before (got up to Test of the Smoking Eye) my party took Drakthar down in one round due to Light of Lunia (might have been Mercuria). Quite anticlimactic.

There has been at least one thread started by Borealis about an alternative Drakthar - I think he was converted into a druid. I read it and really liked the idea (though I'm using Drakthar's Way differently IMC). Since I'm a bit thick I can't attach a link to the thread, but search Drakthar on the site and you're bound to find it. Oh, and if you read this Borealis - great work!
