Beetlejuice TV Theme

Danny Elfman

I am one of very few kids of my generation who can *honestly* say they NEVER liked Barney & Friends (as opposed people like my brother, who was a total devotee until some mysterious threshold when he couldn't express his distaste for Barney enough). When the other kids were all in the living room at the daycare I went to were all watching Barney, I was in the other room watching Beetlejuice. That show was kind of formative for me....

It's so weird, too: This show was on the air at the same time as the Satanic Panic and Neo-Salemist Witch Hunts - and here's a MAINSTREAM KID'S SHOW portraying a creepy 12-year old being best friends with an even creepier undead Q-like entity and just generally showing utter disregard for the Religious Right worldview. A house divided, indeed.

Storm Large

Hilarious song, but with a good message... also rather NSFW... how much depends on where you are...

Also, for reference to the first verse, she's six foot tall and was 'overweight' growing up... and yes Storm Large is her birth name.

You already posted it, though, and not too long ago, either. :/

And now for something completely different (while still being somewhat seasonally-themed)....

I'm not certain why, but for some reason Depeche Mode gets a good bit of love on the cover songs from the hard rock/metal end of the music spectrum...
