I do love the Scorpions up to Winds of Change...then I can take em or leave em
Yeah, pretty much. Compare the Tokyo Tapes and World Wide Live live albums (both excellent); there are only six or so years between them, but they sound very, very different. 1970ies Scorps, Uli Jon Roth's sour vocals aside, are awesome, and early Jabs-era Scorpions are great too. They ran out of gas in the late 1980ies, though.

This is such a badass tune. So, by 1980, The Human League were a commercial flop, and all the band members hated each other. Founders Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh left and recorded this classic; meanwhile, Phil Oakey recruited a bunch of school kids in less than a week to fulfill tour obligations for The Human League and then recorded, you know, "Love Action", "Fascination" and "Don't You Want Me". Everybody wins!
