There seems to a lot of talk about feats that allow class ability cross pollination, so I was wondering...

PRESTIGIOUS FAMILIAR
Prestige classes that provide spellcasting level increases stack with your Sorcerer or Wizard class levels for determining your familiar's level and abilities.
Prerequisite: Summon Familiar ability.
Benefit: At each level your prestige class offers a +1 to an existing arcane spellcasting class that grants you a familiar, you treat that class as one level higher for determining available familiars and their abilities.
Normal: Spellcasting increase class features do not affect familiars.

Actually, there's a feat that's a step better:

Obtain Familiar, from Complete Arcane. Personally, I'd choose some alternate class ability that makes me give up my familiar, then take that feat. All arcane caster levels stack for the purposes of familiar abilities.

The Obtain Familiar feat from Complete Arcane accomplishes the same as it lets all arcane caster levels stack for the purpose of familar abilities.

Sorry I should have refreshed my page - I didn't know someone answered that already (I still had it on and also I was in a hurry to leave).
Well explained by my forespeaker.

It's not at all obvious, but this was done half sarcastically. I am not a fan of feats that let class abilities stack.

You know, I always thought that feat was pretty silly - I never read the last sentence. Thanks!

I'm thinking about taking that feat at 18th level for Aethyr (currently Battle Sorc 7, Ab Champ 5, Ruathar 2) my 15th feat goes to a spell focus to finish qualifying for Archmage, and I took improved familiar for Keth, my pseudodragon. (As an aside they make a nice contrast. Aethyr's reserved, even timid due to her amnesia, Keth is wild and outgoing. He's prone to dancing on the bodies of foes they've incapicitated. Deliver touch + shivering touch for the win!)

Ahem, in her case, it would boost the familiar abilities from 7th level to 18th level in one pop. I might have to get Keth a mithral shirt with an 'S' on it do deal with the power jump.
