Are there any other Lexx fans out there?
Yes. I do like Lexx, and absolutely adore the very first episode which I do feel is the best one of all. I love the fact that the fugitive-freedom-fighter-heroic-guy who that you've been following from the beginning, and who frees the the prisoners, is killed near the end. And then Stanley steps in to take the role of Lead Man :-)
And 790's switch between Xev/Zev and Kai is just funny, and never ever seems to get tired. I especially enjoy 790's mainiacal plans, and his hatred of Stan.
and the Lexx itself is a pretty cool vehicle/character.

I really liked the completely bent movies that led to the series, but the series lost me after a single episode (Planet of Milk Fed Boys, was it? Well at least the title endured in my memory). It wasn't bad. there was some attempt at stylistic imitation of the movies, but the TV show wound up having its own distinct tone and I preferred the edgier, more trippy take of its predecessor.
Reminder to self: buy those movies.

For some reason I always used to end up watching this weird and wonderful programme very late at night on channel 5 over here in the UK.
I never actually set out to watch it on purpose but somehow it would find its way onto the screen and I didn't have the heart to turn it over. I didn't ever really understand what was going on exactly as I didn't see all of them in the correct order and I was confused because I missed a lot of the first ones. Overall I thought it was delightfully camp, often frustrating and very goofy with some nice sci-fi ideas and lots of ‘nudge-nudge, wink-wink’ moments to the audience.
How cool would it be to have one of those grappling hook things Kai had?! :)

Ditto.
This has always been my experience with this show. I find it on some weird channel late at night and watch it completely bewildered and amused.
I never have any idea what's going on, but I can tell that it'd be something I would really enjoy if (1) I'd seen it in order, (2) I had any idea what the meta-story is, and (3) if it weren't edited to unintelligibility for American audiences.

If you like Lexx, check out the TV mini-series (each installment a full movie) "Lexx: The Dark Zone" aka "Lexx: The Dark Zone Stories." The Brits sells a DVD box set called "Lexx: The Movies." I believe the US even called that first season of movies "Lexx: Tales from a parallel Universe."
You'll know you're watching the original episodes of the first series because Eva Haberman plays Zev Bellringer not Xenia Seeberg (gak) playing Xev.
First season (1997)
"I Worship His Shadow"
"Super Nova"
"Eating Pattern"
"Giga-Shadow"
I'm seeing something about a second season that includes two more appearances from Eva, Terminal and Mantrid. Neither ring a bell.

The second season is great. Mantrid is one of the scariest villans I've ever seen. The way he develops from "some crazy guy" to "OH NO HE DIDNT JUST DO THAT OH NO" over the season is just great.
And I'm pretty sure I might be alone in much preferring Xenia Seeberg over the white-haired generic-hot-girl-#5 who can't act in the earlier 1st season. I really adore Xenia. She's got sass and class, and disperses the burns with so much more zest than Eva.

Based on that compelling recommendation I will certainly have to check out that second season.
Your absolutely right about Eva not being able to deliver a burn. I wasn't really a fan of hers, but she was off enough that she made an already off movie series feel even more off, and that was kind of on.
I only saw the first and, now I recall second episode of the Sci-Fi channel series. I don't know how she settled into the role but initially I was just put off by her post op glamor. I detest puffy sheep fat lips. Such lips are supposed to say sex, but they don't say sex to me. They say I paid to have sheep fat squirted into my face.
You don't see William Ragsdale stuffing various animal gunks into his head, now do ya?
I hope I haven't offended those here who've chosen to purchase artificial mouth bumpers. To each her own.
