Is DUNGEON canon?

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Is the material presented in the DUNGEON adventure paths canon? In other words, will WotC honor the fact that Kyuss has been destroyed in the previous AP or that Demogorgon may or may not be destroyed in the current one, or is what Paizo does with such characters irrelevant in their eyes?

Just a thought I'd like to throw out to the Paizo people.

that would be pretty weak if they did i mean what happens in the D&D worlds should be lasting unless tehy of course get resurected or something of that nature if WOTC just blew every thing off like used up eraser shreds...i would start a protest for Paizo

Well, the Fiendish Codex I included information from the Shackled City Adventure Path. Considering that APs have to be approved by WOTC, I wouldn't see why they wouldn't stand by thier events, although since there isn't a current Greyhawk line, Kyuss probably isn't a big issue right now (I don't know how the Living Greyhawk campaign handles this, but I doubt they have included this event in their history).

The magazines are 100% official and have all been 100% approved by Wizards of the Coast. Our assumption is that they would treat the information in the magazines as "canon," but I could understand leaving the specific resolutions of adventures and adventure paths up to the players to complete.

Basically, it's their call, but the 100% Official tag on the cover is there for a reason.

I assumed as much.

In my own games, I like to imagine that other material is canon. My current campaign set in Greyhawk makes references to events in the Moathouse as well as Istivin.
