Sea Wyvern's Wake Stowaway


Savage Tide Adventure Path


Unfortunately I wasn't able to keep Rowyn alive in the first adventure. I didn't want to drop the stowaway plotline in Sea Wyvern's Wake so I substituted Diamondback instead. So far she has cut the rigging for the chair between the ships on day 2 after the dinner and sabotaged some of the mast's support so it would fall on a PC. I know I need to change Diamondback a bit to include invisibility in her abilities (or give her some potions). I was thinking about assassin levels or possibly having a wand activated by use magic device.

What do you think the best choice would be?

A ring or if you don't want the PCs to get it, a magical tattoo.
As an alternate you could max out hide, add a bunch of equipment to help up the skills of move silently and hide, and give her a disquise kit and ranks to pose as other crew members that may be asleep at the times when she decides to venture on deck and slice some rigging.

My PC's, sadly were able to kill both Rowyn and Diamondback. SO, I am using Heldrath Kellani as my stowaway.


someone on another thread mentioned using Nieman - the taxedermist illusionist. That seemed like a good choice.


Why not use Rowyn's stats with Diamondback's name?

In our campaign our DM simply had the Kellani family raise Rowyn from the dead. We never took any great lengths to secure her body so having her appear once more in the land of the living came as quite a shock to all of us. However I doubt we'll be making that mistake again. The next major humanoid BBEG gets nuked and ground into a fine powder to be spread evenly across the Isle of Dread.

just a thought.

Hmm... ya know, the skeletal leotard would have kept the PCs from seeing her face. You could just have her a member of the crew, and don the skele-suit for her nefarious deeds. Shave a few skills to give her a couple cross-class ranks in Profession (Sailor). 'Course, when the PCs finally catch her, you could end up with a Scooby-Doo ending...

This would have been an awesome alternative for our group (the average age being 18, the eldest is 22), when Diamondback was finally revealed she could have growled "and I would have gotten away with it too . . . if it wasn't for you meddling kids!"

Unfortunately Diamondback caught the same illness that finished off poor Rowyn Kellani, namely sword-through-the-head-initis. A terrible disease . . . thankfully the rash of cases that once plagued Sasserine seems to have abated somewhat. Sadly new cases are being reported along the coast and recently on the Isle of Dread.
