Anyone else have issues with getting their characters to go to Vhalntru’s house to investigate him? My guys felt there wasn’t enough for them to go there and bust the door down. They spent most of the session researching the Cagewrights and trying to track them down. I had to invite them to “dinner” at Vhalantru’s place before they decided to err on the side of caution (and suspicion) and visit before hand to surprise him hoping he is a bad guy and they are not going to get thrown in gaol.
• I had Meerhan prompt them to at least start investigating.
• The found the notes in Rhiavadi’s house about “V”.
• Rhiavadi was his “right hand man” and she was totally up to no good.
• An augury about the dinner invitation revealed “woe”
• Plus all the other stuff over the course of the adventure – like the guards, taxes etc.
To me that seems like enough evidence to go an look on him. I didn’t want to give them an iron-clad big arrow point to V saying “this is the big bad!” So did anyone else have issues?

I'm going to run an adventure just before Chapter 8 where the party are sent to investigate the disappearance of the Lord Mayor by Ophelha Knowlern.
The crux of the adventure is that the Lord Mayor had come to see Ophelha (Ophellha's father was a trusted friend to the Mayor) to retrieve some old maps of Sasserine. He had voiced his concern and growing suspicions of Lord Vhalantru and sought to find the truth beind his past in the city he had come from.
The party will follow in the footsteps of the missing Mayor through the dark streets of Sasserine until they eventually find the origins of Vhalantru and what happened to the Lord Mayor. Hidden within the backstreets the party will find a cache of beholders lead by an elder orb.
A number of suits similiar to the very one Vhalantru wears will be found in the lair.
This should be enough motivation to hunt down Vhalantru from this point.

If they don't want to investigate that, great, I'd let it go. You get to have V around a while longer and cause whatever trouble you'd like with him.
For my campaign the players dithered a bit as well, I had V go into the city and cause trouble. He burned down and killed one player's parents, etc. When the PCs showed up, they'd fight a bit and then Lady R would teleport the two of them away.

Oh I thought you were taking about 'He who should who doesn't like his name' or 'He who is about to change his name' or "he who has forgotten his name' not 'He who must not remember his name.....'
What were we taking about again ;)
