How EXACTLY will Pathfinder be shipped? I ask as I haven't subscribed to any gaming magazine since the 80's. I got tired of the magazine(s) being trashed by the US Postal Service and having no replacement options (TSR, Avalon Hill, and SPI did NOT reply to requests). So, I bought them at my FLGS or a bookstore. I intend(ed) on buying Pathfinder this way, too.
NOW, though, I am SORELY tempted to subscribe to Pathfinder (as a Charter member) JUST to get the added access to the pdf's AND the free printed copy of the Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide!
Sooo, will Pathfinder be shipped in such a manner to allay my concerns that the US Postal Service won't or CAN'T trash it? Things like a padded mailer? Or cardboard inserts to prevent folding? What? How?
Since Pathfinder is a book, it can't be shipped periodical rate, and must be packaged. I am given to understand it will be shipped Media Mail (read: Parcel post, but government-subsidized), in a stiff cardboard envelope or mailer.

The answer to your question depends on the shipping method one chooses when subscribing. If you were to subscribe and choose UPS Ground as your shipping method, then your Pathfinders will be shipped in an envelope inside a UPS ground box. If you choose USPS then your Pathfinders will ship in a stiff card-stock envelope (the same that we currently use to ship out OOTS books, sorf-cover books, comics, and flip-mats).

Thank you, Jeff. I'll look at the costs of these two options and make my decision.
Are we able to change our shipping method if we have already chosen one?
I'm partial to keeping my stuff in mint condition if at all possible.
