Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I love the blog, and can't wait for more. Some minor questions have come up in my mind over the past few days, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. (Note: some of these relate to GameMastery products, but as they're ostensibly set in the same setting, I'm asking here.)

Q1: Is the existence of ancient empires such as Osirion and Thassilon common knowledge? Or would their very existence be something only scholars would be privy to? Would the recent news that Osirion is open for exploration have reached towns like Sandpoint and Magnimar?

Q2: Do Varisians use US standard units of measure like miles, feet, etc. - or something new?

Q3: Are the gypsies called "gypsies" - or something else (Tsigani, etc...)?

Q4: Is Sandpoints new temple going to be one to Desna, or some other deity we haven't met yet?

cf. "Burnt Offerings"

Q5: Can I have coffee with that?

A1: Osirion is common knowledge (but VERY far from Varisia). Thassilon is not common knowledge, although the giant monuments they left behind are common knowledge. The people of Varisia know that someone was there long before them, but they don't know much at all about them.

A2: Varisians, and likely everyone in our world, use feet and miles to measure stuff. It's the baseline for us here in the USA, and coming up with something new is ridiculous over-complication.

A3: Currently we're calling them "Varisians," but that's still in development.

A4: Sandpoint's temple is actually a multiple-faith temple that includes shrines to six deities. Desna is one of them.

A5: You can have coffee with everything!
