The spell isn't very clear on what type of traps you can see, but reading the description, I'd say it's a pretty broad scope. Im'guessing you could at least detect pressure plates, tripwires and trapped locks/doors, as well as most magical traps.
As for the shortest path to the tree of shackled souls: I'd say it's C1, C2, C4b, through the secret doors, past C6, to C13, C15, theough the secret door to C19.
after that, it's C20, through the secret door, C24a and C27 or
C23, C26a, C27. The first route seems shorter, but I'm not sure.

does it tell them to fly or where to step or does it just point the way down the tunnel
