Map of Mystery problem

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Has anyone tried to remove the markings on the map of mystery series that started with Woodland Shrine, Ancient Fortress and Forgotten Tomb. I would like to use these maps in my Savage Tides campaign, but those markings on the map really make them unsuitable for use as maps with Fantasy Grounds. I tried to remove them with various programms but failed miserably.
I think it is fantastic that Paizo supplies them with the web enhancement, so I don't have to scan them from the magazine, but without markings it would be that much more useful.

If you have Photoshop, try the clone tool. It's the tool that looks like a stamper (for stamping "PASS" on adventure queries).

The clone stamp lets you cover up any part of a digital image with another part of a digital image somewhat seamlessly. You can adjust the clone stamp's size and opacity/transparency. Select a brush that has a fuzzy edge to its icon, so it creates blurred replacements that better merge with their surroundings. If you haven't used it before, it takes a little practice.

I frequently use the clone stamp for just this purpose.

Turn the opacity and flow down on the clone stamp, that way it makes it more seamless.

Good idea, the only problem is that I don't have Photoshop, is there an equivalent tool for GIMP?

As far as I remember, yes. :D
