Two more modules on Amazon!

Adventures

Just out of curiosity I searched "Paizo" on Amazon. Got a whole bunch of results, but most interesting were two new GameMastery modules listed for fall.

GameMastery Module: Gallery of Evil
Never before has the great city of Absalom seen an artist rise in fame so quickly, but when his patrons turn up torn to pieces, more than a few begin to wonder if his renditions are a bit too lifelike. Gallery of Evil is an urban adventure for low-level characters, compatible with the world's most popular fantasy roleplaying game, and part of the GameMastery Module line. The adventure includes information on the mad artist and his vile works, as well as details about the city of Absolom and a map of one of its districts. GameMastery Modules also include four pre-made characters so players can jump right into the action and full-color maps and handouts to enhance play. When the mad painter's visions come to life, the heroes find themselves entering his crazed landscapes to find a way to stop them from tearing the city apart. September 25, 2007

GameMastery Module: Entombed with the Pharaohs
The ruined pyramid tombs of the ancient emperor-gods of Osirion are finally open to exploration and the race is on to plumb their depths and rescue their priceless treasures. Entombed with the Pharaohs is a desert adventure for mid-level characters, compatible with the world's most popular fantasy roleplaying game, and part of the GameMastery module line. The adventure includes information on the city of Sothis and the ancient tomb that lies nearby, as well as details on rival adventurers bent on getting to the treasure first. GameMastery Modules also include four pre-made characters so players can jump right into the action and full-color maps and handouts to enhance play. Do your heroes have the will and the wits to survive the pyramid-tomb of the pharaohs and the strength to fend off the hoard of treasure-seekers hot on their trail? October 25, 2007

Both look pretty cool. I am excited about this whole line.

Scooped by Amazon! :-)

Yeah, Amazon seems to ruin the "reveal" on a lot of things. I suppose I played my part in that too - Sorry! I hope I didn't put the kibosh on any exciting planned announcements.

Just curious, but is there significance behind the alpha-numerical codes on the modules?

There sure is. I will give you a hint. D stands for Dungeon adventures.

Not one bit. In fact, it's awesome that someone is paying close enough attention to us that we got scooped. :-)

Wow, was I ever being obtuse! D for Dungeon, W for wilderness, U for Urban, but J, J is the one confusing me. Perhaps I'm wrong on W and U, although I feel fairly confident about those, I just can't believe D for Dungeon didn't just jump out at me.
Jammin'?
Juiced?

Are you guys accepting queries for future modules or are you just going with the established elite crew of authors?

Right now we are using a tight group of freelancers for this line, but stay tuned. We plan at least one open call a year, and there are still plenty of opportunities to get into Dragon and Dungeon magazines.

This is because having only two black holes in the submissions room has proven insufficient to power our experimental time machine, and we think one more black hole might just put us over the top.

Oh—and one of the first things we'll do with the time machine is send somebody back to answer submission queries in a more timely fashion.

And so then the black holes will never have been created and the time machine will never have had been working. (That is the correct future-negated subjunctive past tense of the verb "to work," right? If not, as soon as we get the time machine working, I'll have come back to have fixed this to then have had always been correct. Or something like that.)

Hmmmm. "Entombed with the Pharaohs" was the original name for the Lovecraft story "Under the Pyramids"... Is this a Lovecraftian adaptation?

Paizo Employee Chief Creative Officer, Publisher

Actually, the Lovecraft story was "Imprisoned with the Pharaohs," which was the direct inspiration for our "Entombed" title. It otherwise bears little similarity to the Lovecraft/"Houdini" story.

I'm sure you mean that you'll change the evolution of the language such that the above usage will always have had been correct. (Why think small when you have at time machine?)
