Two pieces of the Rod of Seven Parts.

Age of Worms Adventure Path

In my groups AOW campaing the party has recovered the sixth piece to the Rod of Law. However, I don't have the Arms and Equipment guide (I think that is where it is located in 3.5) and have no idea what the fragment can do or what additional powers they get if they combine the two pieces. A little help?

I hope they include the Rod in the Magic Compendium book being released next month.

This is presented in a sidebar on pg. 55 of Dungeon #135.

Sixth Fragment: hold monster 1/day
Seventh Fragment: heal 1/day
Both Fragments Joined: The user can fly (as the spell) at will, in addition to the base powers listed above.

In Dawn of a New Age, the fragments have an additional benefit when fighting Kyuss.

I beleive the issue with the last Adventure, Dawn of a New Age, has the powers of the two combined. If not, I'll see if I can blip up a short summary.

Edit* Doh! Beaten!

My party actually gave the 1st piece back to Tenser, thanking their lucky stars that they did, when shortly afterward they wer attacked while the cleric was taking watch in the middle of the night. The demons attacked silently and beat the cleric up real bad, nearly killing him, while searching him and interrogating him about the location of the part of the rod. The cleric was more than happy to tell them Tenser had it, because in my game Tenser is a ultra Paranoid archmage, and thus has nearly impenatrable defences constantly around his palace-tower.

As a player I never would have given up the chance to collect all of the parts of the rod for a measly 30k in magic items, but go figure my players fell for it.
