I recently started my Shackled City campaign, and to help my players keep track of information, I started a campaign wiki. Now that I have a few sessions under my belt, I'm sharing the link to it here in the hopes that it provides motivation to new DMs.
A couple of disclaimers: The wiki is not complete; I have much to add, and some of my players have not created or updated pages. I hope to motivate them to add session notes and keep updated character sheets.
SPOILERS in the session notes, including maps from the players' perspectives.
Thanks to the folks on the Paizo boards and at therpgenius.com for all the good info!
Here's the wiki address:

Coming from someone who is not very computer literate in scripting or web-page design: I have looked into getting a wiki for my own campaign, but it seems very confusing or technical to try to design/create one. How difficult would you say it was to do that wiki of yours?
I think your wiki is basic in its design, and easy to navigate, but it was very good and just what I was looking for.
Thanks
Robert

Building your own wiki is actually a lot easier then you'd think. There are a few underlying components that you need in place to run it. I'm running mine
on a Fedora Core 5 machine running MySQL, PHP, and Apache. (My web server is under repair at the moment so the pages may timeout, just refresh a couple of times and it should come up). I've given View Only access to the following account:
Username - Chad
Password - publicpassword

As I said, I'm not very computer literate; but if I'm guessing correctly, you're running your wiki on a server?
Thats not possible for me to do. Are all wiki's required to be uploaded on servers? Maybe I just need a messageboard type of thing then.

Not a server in the strict sense of the work (rack-mounted, quad processor, etc) Basically, you'll need a computer that you can have turned on all the time. This machine will also have to be exposed to the Internet so your players can view it.
ah, thanks.
Meh, i'll just stick with my messageboard. It's working good enough so far.
If I can just figure out how to post pics, etc, I'll be in heaven.... :-)

Check out my wiki for Red Hand of Doom: http://redhandofdoom.pbwiki.com/
Other examples of a friend of mine:http://phoenixforce.pbwiki.com/
http://torg.pbwiki.com/
The pwbiki site: http://pbwiki.com/
is super easy to use, and even now has a frontpage style graphical editor (that I hate, but I'm a programmer by education).
Hope that helps!!!

I can also personally endorse the PBWiki, as my group's Age of Worms game info is hosted on just such a one.
Check it out! They recently improved their editing interface, so now it's easier than ever. If you can use a word processing program, you can have your own wiki. Have fun, I know we have!

OOPS, I forgot to reset the password to my campaign wiki site. If anyone is interested in checking it out the credentials are:
username - Chad
password - password
My wiki is for the Shackled City campaign. My players are pretty far into it, so be warned there are some spoilers.

Hi Robert,
I hope you get a chance to see this reply. I'd have done so earlier, but work has kept me off the boards of late.
When it comes to wikis, you basically have two options:
1. an internet-based wiki that's accessible from any 'net-connected computer (good for campaign notes and information that your players can access and modify), or
2. a wiki that runs locally on your own computer and is only accessible by you (and thus mostly for DM's campaign notes and the like).
The easiest way to accomplish Option #1 is to use a wiki service, such as pbwiki mentioned above. You don't need to install or configure any software--you just create an account and get going.
Option #1 can also be accomplished by getting yourself an account with a web hosting company that offers easy installation and setup of wiki software. In this case, you pay for some space on the hosting company's server, and you can do pretty much anything you want with the space: run one or more websites, wikis, blogs, forums, photo galleries, etc. This method is a little more complex, but it's very flexible.
Option #1 doesn't have to run on a real server--it can just as easily run on a desktop at home, though doing so requires some networking knowledge, both to access the wiki from outside your home network and to protect your computer from malicious intent. However, I'd recommend the hosting company option above, as that tends to be a better way to go (faster connection to the 'net, better security, someone else handles upgrades, etc.).
Option #2, where you run a wiki for your own personal use, is easily handled with TiddlyWiki, and the treasuretables.org GM advice site has a blog entry on using TiddlyWiki as a GMing tool.
Of course, with all this said, a weblog or a message board (which you indicated you're already using) may be perfectly well suited to what your needs are. If I can be of any assistance, please do let me know.
Cheers,
Ully

Hi Robert,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this and try to help me out. I have already totally married myself to a pretty good message board that I've been utilizing extensively to post all the info needed to start the campaign. If you're at all interested in it:

My campaign kicks off March 31st. I can't wait.
