hello everyone,
okay so i am a human ranger 6, bard 1, pathwarden 2, with the smoking eye template. the big question i have, that my dm can never give me a straight answer on, is how will meerthan (the leader of the striders of fharlanghan in cauldron) react when i finally tell him that i am the ruler of a plain of the abyss. i tried to avoid telling him when we returned to cauldron which worked out well because an assasin shot me in the back with a lightening bolt as i was ezcaping out the back door of the tipped tankard inn returning me to occipitus to be raised by searum the raven winged angle. so i have got time before i have to confront meerthan.
anyway i digress, any ideas out there as to what meerthan would do? has this ever come up before? or should i worry about losing favor with the striders?

Mr. Jellyfishman,
Most of the DMs here probably feel strongly that:
(a) this board is for DMs, and players reading here will only succeed at spoiling their own enjoyment of the game;
(b) while we could suggest some possible attitudes that Meerthan might exhibit, we won't presume to put words in your DM's mouth.
Let the story come to you in-game. That's part of the fun in playing.
What I can say, in a general good-vs-evil vein, is that bringing a little light to Occipitus would be a Good (capital G) thing.

It woulf depend on how you explain it to him.
I would go in forarmed with as much history of the plane as possible, outline how you came to become ruler and your intentions to the plane.
If you sell it in a good light then Meerthan may accept your 'Smoking eye' as a blow to evil rather than your path towards it...
Good Luck ant let us know how your DM responds
