Depends on what he calls spoilers. If he doesn't want you to know who the big bad guy is, then, yes, it contains spoilers. If he doesn't mind a couple funny ties between the two, then no. Chapter 2 does have a massive city-wide celebration of the fall of the bad guy in AoW, and it goes into a bit of history about the fall of the bad guy.

It's a little bit like for "SCAP".
STAP contains a few spoilers to SCAP.
If you don't know who the BBEG is in AoW, then yes, it's all written down in the 2nd installment.
That's almost all that is written.
If you already know or guess who is the BBEG in AoW, then, it's just confirmed !!
However, except for the surprise, until the "Gambit", STAP doesn't contain things about AoW...
Maybe when next dungeon is out, ask again !!

In what installment of AoW are you now ?
We actually haven't started it yet. My DM is running SC for another party, and when he finishes it in a couple of months, then I'll be PCing for him in AoW. Depending on the schedules of various party members, I may be DMing STAP simultaneously to his AoW campaign, or I may wait until his AoW campaign is over. Another thought I've had is just letting him run all 3 of them in Greyhawk, while I run the Eberron conversions of all 3 of them. :-)

As far as spoilers in Dragon #140 go, I think that if you ignore the Adventure Synopsis section on page 14, the Festival sidebar on page 15, and all but the final paragraph under the Parade sub-header on page 30 (maybe get some neutral party to stick post-its over them), you should be reasonably spoiler-free with out compromising your ability to run the adventure. Just substitute some other victory-celebration festival in place of the one described in the adventure.

The point of the celebration is kind of cool easter egg for those who have played through the previous APs. But if you aren't done with them, then it is kind of wasted anyway. You are not loosing anything from the adventure itself.
In general I think we will see more and more references to the APs in lots of adventures. For instance GreyMalkin Academy (or whatever) had a map of a city built into the caldera of a volcano.
