Note: I haven't received Dragon 348 yet, so I appologize if I ask something that I should know already...

What coordination, if any, is there between the CotWF and other representatives of the Court of Stars?

Are the members all barbarians? Are any of the them clerics? Can you _be_ a cleric of the church, with domains, etc...?

Has Gwynharwyf been updated since she appeared in BoED?

Has the Champion of Gwynharwyf PrC been updated since BoED?

I guess this is the biggest question. One of my players would like to be a cleric associated with this church. I know clerics can serve demons, so why not eladrin (or the Court of Stars in general)? I guess he could just play a cleric of Corellian Latherian with ties to the Whirling Fury, but I wanted to cover all my bases before suggesting such a course.

BTW: Someone I don't even know sent me a box with Dragon 348 in it! Talk about a pleasant surprise! Now I don't have to go my the PX at the nearby airfield every day to see if they happen to have a copy. Yes!

The Book of Exalted Deeds is technically a 3.5 manual, so it's already 'updated' to the current version. Based on the spell list in the Champion of Gwynharwyf PrC and Gwynharwyhf's own spell-like abilities, I would suggest the domains of Chaos, Fey*, Good, Protection, Strength, War, and Wrath*.

* from the Book of Exalted Deeds.

The Church of the Whirling Fury is a cult that worships the eladrins of the Court of Stars; in particular, Gwynharwyf. They don't really work WITH the Court of Stars as much as FOR the Court of Stars, and as such there isn't much interaction between the two. The Court of Stars views the Church as one of countless tools they have on the Material Plane for fighting against demons.

Anyone can be a member of the Church of the Whirling Fury, although most are probabaly barbarains, bards, clerics, fighters, and rangers. There are no monks or paladins, since the church is a Chaotic Good church. You can be a cleric of the church; althoguh the Court of Stars doesn't grant spells. The eladrin paragons are quick to point out that they aren't deities, only powerful servants of the deities—unlike their evil counterparts (arch devils and demon lords) they aren't particularly interested in being worshiped.

A cleric of the Church of the Whirling Fury can be any cleric who worships a Chaotic Good (or even a Neutral Good or Chaotic Neutral) deity allied with the Court of Stars. Any of the elven deities pretty much qualify automaticaly.

In Greyhawk, these deities would include Ehlonna, Lirr, Llerg, Phyton, Kord, Rudd, Sehanine Moonbow, Corellon Larethian, Trithereon, and Vatun are all good choices for deities for clerics of the Church of the Whirling Fury.

In Faerun, these deities would include all the elven deities, Eilistraee, Finder Wyvernspur, Gwaeron Windstrom, Lliira, Lurue, Mielikki, Selune, Sune, Tempus, Tymora, and Uthgar.

BoED is a 3.5 book, so no updates are needed to Gwynharwyf or the associated prestige class.

I suppose he could always be a cleric with the Arborea domain...

Thanks, as always, James. Your response time is great.

I was thinking, one of my players wants to be a knight of the chalice- so I was going to change the whirling fury to a cult of Razial - nothing like a little LG wrath.
