Currently looking for the 1st edition critical charts and fumble effects. I tried pulling them up in an old article but no luck . Does anyone have any suggestions on how to geta copy of them?
I dont know about first edition ones, but I found a few that are compatible with 3.0 and 3.5 I dont really lik using them but they do add a bit of flavour to the scene, Ill look up where I got them and post them here for you.

I really recommend the encounter, crit and fumble charts from the game Bushido; works well; not to complicated; see if you can find that anywhere or can downloaded; I would help you with my copy but not sure that is allowed and all as I am not familiar with copyrights and all; is like 20 years old so may not be an issue; but I used them for decades; is good for charisma bonus for reaction encounters too; makes this a usable stat.
Good hits and bad misses is from Dragon #39 and was reprinted for 3.5 in the Dragon Compendium Volume 1.
Do you mean the crit charts that were published in Dragon magazine more than a few years ago now? If so I believe I have those - I'll check my collection of old Dragons.
If you are looking for detail you cannot do better than the 2nd edition charts in Players Option:combat and tactics. The multiple charts are used for different attacks. Piercing, blungeoning, slashing, and energy attacks. The book was done by some of the guys who worked on 3.0. I think Skip Williams was involved. (We honor the sage)
OK Rhyno, I believe I have what you're looking for. The article I have is from issue #216, and it gives the crit charts from the Player's Option: Combat & Tactics book. It gives a large number of charts such as Bludgeoning vs Humanoids, Bludgeoning vs Monsters, Piercing vs Humanoids, Piercing vs Monsters, etc.
If this is what you're looking for then the good news is that I have it, the bad news is that I am a complete luddite when it comes to computers and I have no idea how to scan this in and e-mail it to you. I do however know how to use the Post Office, and if you want to send me a mailing address I can mail the magazine to you.
