Would this affiliation as presented in Hordes of the Abyss be an apporpriate one for the STAP?
Seems like the later Abyssian travel would make for an interesting place to be for a member of the affiliation.

Abyssal elements enter into the adventures of Savage Tide as early as the first, although the Abyss elements in "There Is No Honor" are subtle, like strangely scented perfume...
In any event, the Black Cult of Ahm would probably make a cool affiliation for the campaign, since it's pretty heavy into the Demon Scene.
